This is one community that I don't ever play, but I want to change that. In the past I've attempted to put in a restaurant, but the lag there was something else, not including the long wait time on top of it.I don't care for the business that are there either. I've checked them out in the past, and even tried to play them, but they just don't keep my interest. So I've decided to do something about it, but I don't know what. So I was wondering if you have done any changes there, what did you do with Magnolia Promenade?

I replaced the existing lots. I put in a restaurant, bar, nightclub and a new more open retail lot. Now with Seasons there is a rink nearby as well. I see it as a waterfront entertainment district.

I was thinking about changing it to residential only, but I'm not sure yet.

I tried to place there community lots where sims get invited often, so I would remember to visit the place. I chose a restaurant and a night club. Aside of those there's a gym. The fourth lot I haven't decided yet, but it has to be community lot, because I don't want to have a residential lot with no neighbours.

I put everything but residential lots there usually lounges, generic homes for my sims to use as pretend hotels and B&B's. Restaurants, churches, cemetaries ect.. I'm mostly putting french quarter type builds there now when I remember to do with multiple saves going on.
I keep the more modern commercial builds for other areas especially Newcrest.

looks awesome @PapayaPancake. Wish it is like that in my game aswell :D. I hardly visit Magnolia Promenade. Only if I like to take som pics of that beautiful boat on the lake! :D

I kept forgetting about it until I turned it into residential; my main Sim lives there in my current save. Everyone in that section is rather artsy, and some of them drink Glenfiddich. B)

I once had a vet clinic there (on the 30x40 lot), and a (very small) maze garden (on the 20x20 lot). The other two lots, I never got around to build on. Unfortunately, I usually end up forgetting about Magnolia Promanade.

I went with a restaurant, a movie theater, a karaoke bar, and one retail store (just because I felt bad not having one there)
