As Ellu said, there's settings with MCCC where it only impacts unplayed households, so if you were to mark your self sims sister played she wouldn't be married off. You can also flag certain sims to not be married (or die, or have children etc.). You just have to fiddle with the settings.
MCCC is a control freaks dream lol but when it goes unchecked and untweaked it's a little wild.
