I don'r use mods in a developing game.
I play every Sim I put in the game as well as every Sim born in my game myself. No sim ever gets left behind or gets added unless I add them myself.
I don't care for story progression in any form - I play the sims to play the game and not have a game play itself. I also do not like online games as I again don't like a game not controlled totally by me. I look at it this way - if I want to play a game where I am not in charge then I will play other games - otherwise I play the Sims and do not want other people or mods playing my game for me. I am the God of my Simearth - PERIOD as Will Wright designed the game to be.
ETA - I do understand I am probably a bit weird playing like that but consider 1 I tested the game Sims 1 under the Master himself - and seeing there was no story progression in the game until into Sims 3 was well under way - by Maxis anyway - I did not try it until Maxis added it - and quite frankly I did not like playing like that and became strangers with all the other characters but the ones I played. So to start having fun again with the game I started over with no story progression and had fun again and knew every body I wanted to know. Even in Sims 3 I played many households just as I did in all previous households. For some reason without sp my sims had friends again with sims I did not play. With sp sims died off or moved away that my sims knew. The sims left behind we always different and new.
I may have enjoyed SP had it been something they only did with the Maxis Sims but it was like all or nothing - never mind it fouled up a lot - from the way I enjoy my game - so I reject sp and mods that use sp.
