- I give them makeovers if they are too ugly (this happens quite often lol) or ignore them if they look ok.
- pammiechick5 years agoLegendMCCC puts in my Sims for townies. I now love my worlds!
- Missmagoo25 years agoSeasoned AceIf my sim is interacting with them (friends, coworkers, etc.) I'll give them a makeover. If they're just a random sim passing by, I ignore them.
If I'm starting from scratch, I delete everyone and use MCCC to import my tray of custom sims. - AgnesXX925 years agoSeasoned AceMods keep them from spawning at most part, but those few who do get deleted. I have tried to give them makeovers, but 99% of the time they are just too ugly to handle.
- Spots_ALot5 years agoSeasoned VeteranMostly give them makeovers but all of the above.
- HopeyStarr5 years agoSeasoned AceI'm pretty sure I've done hundreds of makeovers at this point.
Anyone who I'm too lazy to give a makeover to gets the boot. - Mostly ignore them or befriend or marry a few times
- I usually replace most of them because the game seems to be programmed to generate a horde of adult bartenders that have either the Genius/Muser trait combination or the Creative/Quick Learner combination. They typically have at least one trait from this group - Mean, Evil, Hates Children, Unflirty, and Child of the Ocean. Their third trait comes from this group - Music Lover, Art Lover, Loves Outdoors, Cheerful, Goofball, Bro, and Slob. I replace about 98% of them with my own townies which I've gathered from several games over the years. I balance age groups, genders, careers, aspirations, and traits. Most of them have several basic skills.
Deleted on sight - Weirdoes. I know that the game replaces them but I'll just delete them again after my Vampires or Spellcasters have used them for targets of Powers or Spells while they're leveling.
I limit the number of Aliens in my saves to 4. I delete any generated past that number until the game generates Vampires. No Vampires = No Aliens. I've collected a group of Aliens that I use because of the careers or roles the game has assigned them. For example, two are doctors, one is a street musician in the Business career, and the fourth is a mail carrier in Sulani.
My games have generated some great townies which is why I started collecting them several years ago. I've gathered an assortment of Street Musicians, Living Statues, Mail Carriers, City Repairmen, Restaurant Critics, Landlords, Aliens, Vampires, and Merfolk that I can pick and choose from. I've only managed to come up with about 6 families though. I've frequently had to combine parents and children from various game-generated families that have traits that make sense.
Most of the ideas that I got for building my own townie population came from this forum a couple of years ago. That's when I started really looking at townies and their traits. I also started looking at elder townies after someone mentioned that they often had decent traits and aspirations and, when aged down, looked better than the adults or young adults generated by the game. So, I started aging some elders down so I could use them as eligible singles or as parents of a family that was being put together. That pear-shaped body is dominant so it gets fixed.
I still need to put together several sets of restaurant staff. - I ignore them but when I got Discover University a teen townie generated that just stood out to me so I ended up playing him as a culinary student and a spellcaster. He turned out to be a really good looking sim. I don't have an unskilled save of him unfortunately because I'd like to have played him in my newest games just because he was rare.
