I like they are more connected to each other like in the past games, but I do think they stretched it too thin. The Watkins mom was cheating with the mayor while the Watkins teen was interested in the mayor's kid. No sense in double dipping with the same family when they could have spread the connections out. Why couldn't the LGBTQ couple have had a teen son she could have been interested in instead?
Another thing that annoyed me was the Watkins estate being the only 64x64 lot. It means I have to delete them, marry in, or "steal" the family farm. Playstyle wise, none tend to really be my thing, especially not all the time, so unnecessary drama for me there.
Also, real quickly, no. I have no expectations of Stardew out of 4. Or Rimworld, Don't Starve, Planet Zoo, or really anything content wise out of 4. I do not think it really makes any sense to expect Stardew out of anything that isn't Stardew.
Back to the drama, it was fine. I like connections existing in the worlds we get. I did not really mind the choices either beyond my qualms above. However, none of the CoL premades are really on my favorites list either.
