What does "dazed" actually mean? (contains spoilers)

Someone dazed is considered stunned or incoherent or confused- it is usually brief and temporary unless there is a medical cause of it. I know I sometimes feel a bit dazed when I have woken up after only a hour or two of sleep. Lol.
