What effects have the incense?

I rarely use the incense objects, because basically I don't remember they exist. I think they could be elsewhere in the catalog. But now I want them, for a Zen Collective I just built in Ciudad Enamorada. There is a room dedicated to yoga and meditation, and I thought incense would fit.

But is this object giving effects? And will it depend on the level of Wellness?

  • It gives some moodlets depending on the flavor you choose, kind of like the bath soaks and the bubble blower.  I don't think wellness skill has any effect on them. One of them started a fire once in my game.

  • I use them quite often if I'm doing the wellness aspirations but, like crocobaura mentioned earlier, you do have to be careful as they can start fires. I like them for inspired or focussed moodlets.

  • Incense increases your sims mood depending on what you choose. You should try it out.

I have incense burning when I want my sim to have a certain moodlet like focus or if I want them to be energized, or to help calm their anger and fears.

  • Thanks all! I was hoping for something extra when building wellness. The temporary modlets are not so interesting in my game, but I'll check them out. And the risk of a fire I had heard f before but totally forgotten - thanks fore the warning!

  • I have forgotten they even existed. I will start using them again.

I use them pretty frequently, both in my spas and in certain homes. They are nice decor, in the right setting, even if you never light them. If you do light them, the moodlets aren't too overpowering IMO, just a little temporary boost.

However, they are a bit of a fire risk. I wouldn't say they catch on fire all the time, but for me it has been more often than the fireplace. However, I've only ever had a fire start if I leave the room with it still burning, and they don't burn that long. So usually I only burn them if I'm going to be in the room for a while: in the bathroom during a long bath, while cooking dinner in the kitchen, while in the office working on a novel, while doing yoga in the same room, etc. Then I just make sure it's out before I leave (much like I do with the fireplace).

Always burning that incense...these sims are so sensitive to their surroundings and need a little boost most of the time. 😜
