Genetics in this game are ... weird.I played a legacy for 3 generations and one of the progenitors - the woman - had very small eyes because I didn't want them to be "pretty".They had 6 or 7 children(I don't even remember) and ALL of them had very SIMilar features. Small eyes and the same nose on all of them! I played some more with this legacy and again, every child born from the heir had similar looks. The same small eyes got passed over and over. I even got identical TWINS!https://i.imgur.com/bSKAT0Q.pnghttps://i.imgur.com/Ys27W7Z.pngThe one thing that fixed the issue was a sibling of the heir marrying a townie and some of his kids actually got some looks from said townie.I sort of got bored with playing the legacy and started a new household in the same save. It's a sim that had children with 3 different townies. First daughter was with an offspring of my legacy and ended up looking decent taking both looks from her parents!The second daughter was with Caleb Vatore. Yeah, I took Caleb and mamasim into CAS and tried for offspring and I got them all similar to that oddball that looked nothing like Caleb.So far so good, I managed to tweak Caleb a bit and fixed the eyes by simply changing their color, then changing them back.Had some tweaks here and there to the jaw, chin and mouth and managed to get a more realistic daughter:https://i.imgur.com/GMRShet.pngNow she's replaced! Will have to build their relationships back though.@VentusMatt Never thought about doing that so thanks for the heads-up!

Or it's just an oversight on the devs part and need some tuning.

Genetics are weird. I feel like their is too much variation in what is possible. I know that it suppose to make a combination of the parents but sometimes I feel like it goes to extreme and pulls features none of the parents have. Luckily you can change a sims face pretty easily without having to use the cas cheat.

Genetics in this game are weird for sure. I've had sims that come out looking exactly like their parents, or get weird features that their parents don't have. There are certain features that seem to be more dominant, but I haven't figured out to what extent. For example, my legacy founder married Knox Greenburg, who has weirdly tiny eyes. All of their children ended up with weird tiny eyes. I ended up editing them because they just looked too weird. However, only one of the children got Knox's nose, the rest have their mom's. I've given up on trying to figure out how genetics work in this game.

There is definitely something off. I took my sim into cas to give her a daughter. I used the "play with genetics" option, it came up with a green male YA. I tried 6 times, same results each time.

Not her eyes, though. Hers are obviously larger and more slanted. And those lips don't look like his at all(or hers for the matter).
I don't know. When I tried to have this sim a party and age her up into a teen she glitched and instead of growing up, she reset in a different location. This game is a mess, lol.
I play sims for legacies, for traits, for genetics.
But with all these being broken, I don't know what the point of playing is anymore.

My best shot with Caleb is having a clone of him marry into the family but I'm not sure if that fixes it.
When I have random townies into the family, I don't run into problems, because they're all made from presets. :/

You can use the action "Change Sim" at a mirror and it'll take you to cas. Unlike Plan Outfit it also let's you edit their face, body, gender, gender options, and voice. The only things you can't change are their age, traits, fat & muscle levels, and household relationships. It's almost like having the cas.fulleditmode cheat on but not fully. You can also change their face by selecting to edit household from the household manager.
