What exactly is 'Generations'?
I keep seeing people post about wanting generations and that it's being hinted at in a future pack, but no one is explaining what it is. Anyone want to tell me?

It actually added a lot of things. It just wasn't objects but meaningful gameplay. Sometimes it's not about how much a pack gives us in gameplay objects but how much it gives us in gameplay and generations added a whole new level of gameplay. Don't get me wrong it came with tons of new objects for kids, teens, and elders too. Generations is probably more expansion material than half of the sims 4 expansions which feel empty.
