I have a question:
How much more demand does it place on a computer if, for example you change all the effects from low to ultra?
I appreciate it might be an odd question, but from one extreme to the other I'm curious to know how much harder a computer would be working.
It will be a lot (big difference). Especially when you had laptop mode on to off. - DeKaythePUNK8 years agoLegendMy settings are custom but it's pretty much Ultra but with reflections and visual effects set to Medium cuz I don't think they look that different if set on high anyways.
- everything on high but lighting is very high on the laptop... everything on ultra on the desktop.
- ladybreid8 years agoSeasoned AceUltra here but I believe I have post proc. off. I can't remember and I'm not in game atm
- Ultra, but I also use the awesome effects of Reshade lol. It's pretty fun to tweak. I usually turn off the game's post-processing so it can fully utilize it. <3
- Most of my settings are High - Very High. I personally don't notice much of a difference between those and Ultra, so I keep it at that.
- Everything low except the view distance and sims which are set on high and very high respectively.
I don't have a very good computer yet. Although I want to rebuild my computer with high specs so I can enjoy games (thus includes TS4) on high settings. - Katiardguez8 years agoRising VeteranCustom. Everything is set to high and very high with "vertical sync & uncompressed sims texture" on and

I have everything exactly the same as Simasaurus.
I have those settings too, except for resolution, because I haven't bought better monitor yet, like I want. :'(
(still stuck at 1920X1080. I dream of having a higher res, like my older son...)
Ultra settings for any game you play? :o
I would love to play Ark SE at Epic (term they use, rather than Ultra) settings, but can't, because frame-rates drop to 30s/20s
(depending on map, and area) :'(
I have Ark because
(1) my sons nagged me to play it with them, last year.
(2) I got it bundled with Scorched Earth expansion
($17 total - earlier in year, during a super sale B) )
(3) I got a bit hooked on it's sandbox-style of game play, and enjoy the building, open world, rafts through water
(or swim if you are crazy, lol)
And I love how single player can be tweaked to suit play style. It's more than just dinos. :)
I am hoping my settings for Sims can stay where they are, since I am seeing more comments of issues/lag, etc, from those with good PCs. :o :/
It has me a bit concerned for the future of Sims 4 when it's done - with everything loaded.
I don't have the best PC, and sometimes I get so darn tired of relearning more things/updating every couple of years.
(it can get exhausting, because I do it myself, with help from husband and son actually putting the pieces into case, while I stick to the software, tech parts. It's safer for me, and everyone else that way, lol).
( currently using i7 4790 / 32 Ram / 1070 8GB )
