What happened to NPC birthday parties?

I remember when I started playing years ago whenever my sim's besties aged up they would have parties and invite my sim. I hadn't though about it but it occurred to me that despite having lots of npc friends and besties over the years I have not had a sim get invited to a party in a long time. What happened to the parties?

  • @Wolfie_GirlXox I've never had birthday invites in Sims 4 and I've played since it arrived on console. But my Sims do get other invites to festivals and parties at the Bluffs, etc. Are you getting no invites at all?

Now that you mention it I had those too, my sim usually started at OS, so often it was Malcolm's party to YA.

I only had basegame at the time, I'm a late comer to ts4, but now I do remember having those.  I can totally live without, but I am curious now.

I still get other invites, just not parties. I think it might be all events the player can initiate such as house parties and playdates since I've seen in some older stuff that people got those.

@Wolfie_GirlXoxI've never seen playdate invites in all this time of playing. But you can create those yourself. Never seen house parties either. Just invites to go to a Sims house to hang out. But I did see it was possible with a mod to go to a proper house party at another Sim's house.
If you have Get Together there are gatherings you can create with clubs too.

Edit: I forgot to grab an image of the toddler playdate option from the Toddlers pack when I was in my game, but I've just found one to attach here.

  • I remember getting them when I first started playing on X-Box. I gave up going when no one turned up for the party my sim went to. Sims 3 parties were more fun

I am aware of ways that the player can initiate these activities but it is sad that npc's don't invite us, especially considering that they might have before.

@Wolfie_GirlXox , @Ellupelluellu , @simsplayer818  I used to get NPC invites as well to birthday parties and almost immediately everyone left, including the person who was supposed to be hosting the party! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣  I think though I now have aging off for anyone outside my current household, so I think the lack of invites for me is due to that! 😅
If I remember, I will try to test it out with aging on.

I got invited to a few of them (prior to the patch), but the party never got started and my sim was the only one who showed up and the event cancelled.
