I'm a big fan of the Strangerville mystery, but often I retcon it in ways that change George's backstory from that of a crashlanded pilot to a regular resident of Strangerville.
Junkyard owner (with freelance fabricator as his actual career) is one of my favorite occupations for him, and I downloaded him a nice scrapyard that has a party room in the basement. Since there is no high ranking military member premade sim, George can also fill this role if I need it, thus becoming Jess' superior.
Erwin Pries is almost always his son, but I don't remember how that started or what exactly gave me this idea. Probably because Erwin had to go into some household and I couldn't see him with the YA artists, so George was the nextbest choice.
If I want Whitaker the ghost dog playable (sometimes resurrected, other times as a ghost), George is also a prime candidate to adopt him.
