The first four children had an hour left until school started for them. Happily, they finished their homework beforehand. For the very first time in ages, I had their mother making sack lunches for each of them. I chose what I thought would be fairly easy, but it was taking her an eternity just to make a peanut butter sandwich. Really? I mean, really?Her husband was out seeing to their chickens. The Coop, cleaned just the day before as part of their daily schedule, was dirty. He was to clean the coop and scatter chicken feed. While I was watching the mom make the sandwiches and chuckling to myself about how she was having to grind and then cream the peanuts. The sad music plays. I look at what's in her mood bar only to find she lost the love of her life! Say, what? Do I have a Killer chicken on the loose?It's only raining outside, he wasn't ill and since when doesn't the game camera jerk you over to the event? I am left clueless.So, I come here to ask: What would you do? Roll back and keep the camera on him at all times, just in case it happens again, or just play on? I'm torn. (Last time I tried to play on, it went from bad to worse, hence, my quandary.)Please and thank you, in advance.

Play on, I say. Random, unexpected occurrences are one of the only things that really keep the game interesting.Unless you are trying to tell a specific story and need that Sim for the story, then roll back...but it sounds to me like you had autonomy on so I assume that isn't the case.Chickens can kill Sims, by the way, so maybe that's what happened?Edit to add: Forgot to mention, you can make sack lunches using left overs of existing group meals that you have on hand. It's much faster (almost instantaneous) than making them from scratch. Just a tip. For a household with 4 school children it's a lifesaver. I use a mod that puts sack lunches to inventory when they are prepared and just have my school kids pack their own sack lunch from left-overs on their way out the door to school most of the time.

Thank you, Both, for weighing in. I'm not in the least distraught, as I thought I might be. I do know one of the Rooster chicks was thinking of leaving because he felt neglected. The chickens are so spoiled his wanting to leave was laughable. He suddenly grew up. Maybe he was agitated he wasn't invited to the daily birthday parties? Maybe he expected some cake as a treat? I did find the dad's tombstone inside the fenced area around the coop. Maybe it's too frightening to watch a Sim get pecked to death. I always exit without saving when my playable sims accidentally die. The townies urns are kept for ulterior resurrection, but I never got around to it. You need to change the variables, and instead of sandwiches and feeding the chickens, you need to send them on a surprise day trip to Sulani.

At least that may give me more time to realize if I wish to carry on the twist in the plot the game handed me. I made small, periodic saves when the children, most especially the two Toddlers that are left, gained an advancement in their skills, but that was before dad suddenly hit the dirt. I merely squished my game down to come over here and get some sage advice. I really am in a quandary on what to do. It is the first day of school for these kiddoes, but maybe dad is really stressed and he has to take his vacation time now, or lose it? (Don't worry, we'll homeschool them on the plane.)

Thank you. I created him in CAS Years ago when Pinstar's Legacy Challengecame out for Sims4. He was a Superstar in Sims3, but struggled in love. I thought his quitting his career to seek a wife would make an interesting backstory. He has six kids altogether. At one point five of them were Toddlers. The first four have aged up to Child, with the fifth one about to do so, too. Cadence was born a little later than Peter. I may be happy to have her as a Toddler for awhile, yet.

So you have brought some of your stories from Sims 3 into Sims 4, that's awesome, I have done that from Sims 2. Don't know how you managed 5 toddlers though lol

Yes, Erik was also in Sims2. He's part of the backstory for my Original/Character in the Star Trek Fanfiction in my siggie. Finally, I had a way to tell more of his story, since his part in the trilogy was very limited. In Sims2 he wasn't the full musician he evolved into, as you know music was also limited in Sims2. But, he did become the Mayor. LOL He is a worthy Sim in my mind.

I will check out your fanfic, I love Star Trek, Maxis should collaborate and give us an alien Sixam world to visit.

That's the problem in a nutshell. I AM very fond of him, he's more or less the star of the show. I wasn't given the courtesy of even seeing Grimmie, let alone for his wife to be able to plead for his life. Not only that, but he has four or five Death Flowers he could have used to save himself. I have never used those before, but his Fans tend to send them to him in the mail. I always found it a tad disconcerting when his two Obsessed Fans would leave plates of Ambrosia whenever they visited his lot. :open_mouth: This tied into the break-in makes for an interesting plot. I decided to exit without saving and wrote up what happened, so I could use the idea the obit gave me.

Hm isn't it possible to hover over the ghpst sim the relatiomship panel and ot says how they died? I swear I've been able rp find put somehow, maybe it was by using MCCC.

He only just died. No ghost has appeared. I don't understand how one can get information via MCCC when there is no Sim to click on. At any rate, I deemed it a glitch and exited without saving. When I played it out again, Erik was attacked by one of the chickens. Others have said it is possible for chickens to kill a Sims. The whole point is, the camera never took me to the dying/dead Sim. No chance to plead with Grimmie, no chance to offer the Death Flower that Erik had. It was just weird.

As you can see he was being attacked by an angry chicken. Ultimately, Erik sold him for meat. That ends that. He did end up getting pecked by another chicken, but I didn't have the camera trained on Erik at the time to identify which chicken it was. He may very well opt to purchase eggs and get rid of the menace altogether.

I might have said let it go if it had been an interesting death, but since you didn't even see it or get any notification I think I'd do what you did. Especially as invested as you are in Erik. I'm all for going with the flow but not when it feels like a glitch.

Normally I go with it with it and usually end up moving the ghost back in with the family, but if you have reason to think it was a glitch then roll back.

Started Origin not knowing about the patch.
Only to find out my entire game library has gone missing or, been deleted by Origin and I'll have to start all over again anyway.
