What I like and don't like about this patch

I love the platforms in the game. I am working on a build with a sunken dining room and a sunken living room the bathtubs are on platforms and the bed in the master ensuite has the bed on a platform.

Since all, I have been doing is building with the updates. I haven't had a chance to see how broken occults are in this game.

I wish we could colour the sides of or platforms. I'm just happy I have them. It's the only way I can do a sort of split level for my sims hone.

If anybody who plays occults has news on how unplayable this patch has made then please let me know.

I had my game crash a few times playing vanilla. I removed my localthumbcache, I removed my mods folder I ended up unistalling and reinstalling the game because it wasn't loading a vanilla game. Yes, you can get last exceptions with playing vanilla. Which according to my Sims 4 folder I have a few of them.

Usually when I do a test game it lasts a few weeks because I'm confident to reinstall mods slowly.

Whhat does everyone else like and dislike about the Upadate?

  • I love the sentiments and platforms. I am very happy that there are many negative sentiments with negative emotions - this gives events more weight and adds depth. I hope they expand sentiments more, and that it is setting the stage for actual memories sometime soon, as well as general emotion improvements.

Something I DON'T like is that the patch notes said that "beloved" sims will no longer reject marriage proposals. This is a very bad thing, imo. Not all sims want to get married, so it SHOULD be difficult to get them to accept. This removes depth.

I've had crashing once, but a bigger problem for me is with the mysterious pink dot. Many times when I tried to have a Sim do an odd job or travel, I instead got a persistent pink dot in the middle of the screen, like this:

I would get the Pink Dot of Doom to go away by entering build mode and then returning to live mode, but it would reappear when I again tried to do the odd job or travel, unless I closed out the game and restarted it.

This was happening to me way before the most recent patch. A mod was breaking the odd job UI.
  • @Rouensims I haven't tried odd jobs yet with my sims.

@HopeyStarr In a way, I hope that the pink dot isn't mod related but at the same time I wouldn't want it to be related to the update

Thank you for the information! I guess I need to sort out my mods.
