On her gallery, youtuber Fake Gamer Girl (FartExploder01 on the gallery), has put up a bunch of Sims 2 families and the Altos from TS3, along with houses that aren't exact copies of the originals, but reimagined for TS4.
I use some of the houses; others I just stick them in vacant houses that are big enough.
My personal save file includes a lot of her households, including the Caliente sisters, Don Lothario, the Dreamers, the Smiths, the Curious brothers, the Beakers, the Pleasants, the Specters, the Goths (mostly--I like the look of Cass in TS4, except her skin is too light, so I fixed that), the Altos, and the Brokes. I put them in, went into family management and made sure I got the family relationships right and deleted the duplicates.
