I think content as the default would be a lot better. Being in a good mood doesn't necessarily mean I'm happy, but I'm not really anything else either. Very happy could become happy, which sims would be feel when they're doing well at school/work, or maybe when they eat a meal of a higher quality or even if they have multiple good interactions with another sim.
