Having ultimatums such as all my way or the highway, seem to be coming from ones that have not invested in cats and dogs, and may not even be playing Sims 4, on regular bases if at all. In my option having Snow rain and fall/autumn virtually in every city or world, is not even plausible at this point and unnecessary.
I'm pretty sure most would balk at the idea of separate release weather expansions purely on principle and price alone. If the Cats and Dogs where divided into separate packs I would be miffed at paying close to $100 to get both animals- Seasons would cost almost $200 to complete, and be nothing more than a cash grab..."Stormsview;c-16217610" wrote:

No offense...but how does having investment in one expansion pack connect with the sims 4 entirety? Or investment in playing the whole game? None of us would be here if we weren't playing the game. Some of us do have lives, but I but I bet we're all playing it in some form of a fairly basis.
I believe almost every simmer is passionate about the game in their own way. I can't really fathom the whole "If this simmer is like this...they can't be a true simmer." Just because someone likes or dislikes something, I don't really think that judges or classifies their "fanhood".
I've been invested in the sims franchise long before TS4. And technically speaking, it hasn't exactly changed. Is this iteration my absolute favorite? No. But obviously there are some things that I do like about it. I got this game during release. As I did with all of the sim main pc games since childhood. Including all of it's DLC (game/stuff/expansions etc.) just as I've done in the past. Some were gifts, But I always utilize the pack in some form. Yeah there are some things that do make me sigh, there's disappointments that I feel at times, and at my low I have just uninstalled. But my passion about the sims never changes. When TS4 shocked me with many of it's features this year, I did give the game praise for it.
Passion for the game is just there, it doesn't begin or really end. Old simmer or new simmer, that passion is there. It's why there's so much argument/debates on the forums. We're all passionate and have invested a lot in the franchise and the game.
As for an options of seasons in every place. I'm absolutely all for it. I used to go to college in Arizona and they had even more snow than here in New Jersey and it looked pretty awesome lol. And since I live by New York, the city is totally beautiful in snow <3. So I actually do find dessert and city towns very nice in different seasons. So i'm personally all for options, because I think we all should choose what's plausible and unnecessary <3
Anyway though, I'll trust in the words of SimGuruDaniel on this one. <3
No offense?... None taken <3
No offense but, A lot of times people get frustrated with something that has outgrown their computer. So understandably they are upset, but now is the time to start saving for your new or updated computer for all future packs of Sims 4, and into the future as well with Sims 5, so yes we must understand it will most likely follow in the same pattern with upped specs. Its a long time between now, and a new EP.
This time around it did not give most enough time to save or purchase a new computer or Mac. also being so near the holidays. It's hard to let go of an old investment for the new one. So, we tend to love and keep the games our computers can play and hate the one it cannot play, but of course, this is understandable.
After a while, it just gets to the point of whats fair and whats not fair, When you go on a website to give a review of a product first thing you will find out, you must have bought the said product first having owned it is the only fair way to review a product.
The reason I speak of the players that truly have Cats & Dogs? Its because they are the only ones that know the gameplay of cats and dogs.
You may be able to say things and fool people that truly do not have the cats and dogs EP.
But the ones that truly own the game and are able to play it on their computer and do so on a regular base. Can see right through the chit-chat of this and that, with false put-downs that do not pertain to the game in the lease.
rumor has it, This is not a poor man's game. I do mean the series of Sims from the start. but its good and clean entertainment.- Things get shaky when people start claiming to be able to talk for others, 'not believing' their motives. The feedback section is meant for giving your own feedback, not that of others. They can do a pretty good job of that themselves. Whether you believe them or not is irrelevant.
(I don't quite follow what C&D has to do with Seasons by the way, but that might be just me) - I liked it in Sims 2 where you could choose whatever kind of weather you wanted in whichever town. You could make it Summer all year round and Winter all year round, I really loved that.

What is unnecessary to you is another person's dream, don't forget that. I doubt it's going to happen in existing worlds but saying it's unnecessary is just about as strange as saying there doesn't need to be other life related animations why don't we just remove actual sitting and eating and just click on Sim to make them full..since it's so unnecessary since they are just pixels. :D"JoAnne65;c-16218117" wrote:

Yeah they have no right to. I'm able to talk on behalf of myself. I think people who have to constantly talking on behalf of others don't have the ability to talk for themselves. It is like a weird hive mind thing that goes on. Like there was a study that if a few people walk backwards start walking backwards. So I tend to ignore whenever someone starts complaining about others and assuming how they think. They aren't any better than anyone else and silly if they think they are. Honestly if the Sims 5 extends beyond five years I'm done too. I don't think any Sims game should be developed beyond that. Pets and Seasons are my favorite themes in all iterations and if they are confined weather, it just confirms that the Sims 4 is still using the confined ideas from 16 years going on 17 years ago for their neighborhood designs and really isn't as modern as people claim it to be, but yesterday's news. Bad enough it uses neighborhood design from the Sims days and object babies. If it uses Vacation style weather again, then wow Sims really has gone to the dark ages. It is almost as if the Sims 4 can't make up its mind whether to be modern or not. If it wants to go back, then they might as well bring back newspapers, landline phones, and more period furniture again so at least I can make period stories. I'm ok with a little bit of old and new, but the Sims 4 claiming it is modern and claiming features like multitasking as new is just false advertising. It is quite sad really the Sims 4 is being treated like a charity case for three years now. People claiming Pets would be the best in the series and in reality it wasn't. So even though I hope the Sims 4 delivers in at least one theme, I expect the Sims 4 is going to have the worst seasons in the history of the Sims. I would love to be proven wrong, but so far the Sims 4 is making the first Sims game look like a better product. I don't see seasons working out as well without features even that game had like terrain and pond tools. How boring are flat lots going to look with the leaves and snow on them and no ponds to skate on in parks and in home lots.- I find it interesting how many votes state they’d throw in the towel when I’m fairly certain they’d break down and buy it at some point anyway. Specially those who keep doing it. If nothing thus far has ticked them off enough to quit buying packs for this game, chances are a less than desirable weather delivery system isn’t going to stop them. Pretty sure EA knows this by now.
I can’t vote for this. I’ve already stopped buying. - kinsaray8 years agoSeasoned Newcomer

This. - I did not vote.
I still believe Seasons must be a thing for Sims 4, I believe that it should be for all the places, and I believe that all 4 seasons and all weather must be included in the game.
However, I don't know if applying snow to worlds that already exist is even technically possible without breaking saves. That's what they said why they could not make Appartements buildable outside of san myshuno. Because the patch to change the existing worlds to allow that would break all saves.
Personally, If I had to choose to either only have weather and seasons in one world but keep all my safe files intact, or have weather and seasons everywhere but being forced to start new games from scratch, I would choose the second option. But I can see other people thinking differently about that.
Also, I see how current Packs take longer to make and have a lower quantity of content in them compared to Sims 3, but I see that as a good thing, as they are able to focus on quality. After all, I prefer buying 3 game packs for my occults instead of one supernatural EP.
Sims 3 Supernatural gave us 3 new occults and an update for vampires, but the vampires were as buggy, twilighty and stupid as they were in late night, the werewolves were ugly, had almost no gameplay and the small amount they had was crappy and the fairies were just boring.
The one occult that is my favourite in Sims 3 to this day are witches, and to me, they are the only ones worth playing as.
Sims 4 vampires gave us fleshed out, polished, cool and fun vampires with a lot of content to them. If we can expect such a treatment for all the occults, or at least the most important ones, I'll happily buy those GP's even if they double the prices. Period.
For Sims 3, Seasons was a big pack, and if all Seasons and all weather are put into one pack, they will not be able to include anything like seasonal festivals or something like that. They would either have to split it up, first release something and expand upon it later, or make a "Lite" version of what we had in 2 and 3.
I understand that a lot of simmers fear that seasons and weather will be limited to just one world, and all the other neighborhoods we already have would stay as they are, but one SimGuru already said on twitter that this is not what they want to do.
Not want to do and therefore will not do, or not want to do, but be forced to do regardless?
I hope for the first, but I would not be surprised for the latter. I would be dissapointed, even angry, but I would understand why they did it, as they already explained before the release of City Living. Would I still buy it? Probably at some point, but not on release and defenetely not out of excitement or because I believe it adds something to the game, but to have the entire collection. I would probably never use it.
My wife probably would. We share one Origin account, so EA wouldn't notice the difference. But knowing her, she would probably be pissed too.
