- I use a mix of settings. I have some of my settings on low, but others like reflections are on high. I don't have the best gaming computer, but I have a pretty good one. It kind of depends on how many EPs I have installed. I am hoping to one day have a gaming PC, but it will probably be awhile.

So much for people who say this game is played on a potato - Simmers are running high end for the most part. Listen up Maxis - we don't need no plum design - we simmers for the most part are upgraded!
I doubt this forum is representative of Simmers in general tbh.
Oh, and I play on ultra on a non-gaming laptop and the game runs perfectly fine.
Well most of the people I know never even come to these forums - and I actually don't know anyone - personally, who does not run a high end gaming rig because I am affiliated with lan competition gamers for over 25 years - who also play sims. I already knew they used high end machines - but it seemed to be here was where players didn't a few years ago anyway - especially when I was helping a lot of simmers fixing their Sims 3 games to play on lesser laptops and such. But seems the simmers here are also running some decent equipment too now.- elelunicy7 years agoSeasoned AceTS4 is so easy to run graphically to the point that I run it at 7680x3200 along with 4xSGSSAA forced in the graphics driver (i.e. the effective rendering quality is close to 16k) just so I can fully stress my GPU when playing it. The good thing is that at this resolution the image quality is so good it basically looks like a CGI movie. The bad thing is that all the low polyness and bad textures have nowhere to hide and it really highlights how bad most of the art assets are.

Couldn't agree more :D I assume you have the UI size altered then? Does it have any weird drawbacks? I only play with 3620 x 2036 res so the UI isn't too bothersome or maybe I did alter the UI... can't remember at this point.

Reshade takes care of all the post processing for me.

I use Ultra. My previous gaming PC blew up while playing the Sims 4 (unrelated to the game really, it was an old computer) so when I rebuilt it I built it with extra high Sims settings + longevity for future packs in mind.
wow that is crazy! It blew up!"Simpkin;c-16818388" wrote:

No they did not list Ultra - Ultra is the highest setting and my computer automatically goes to Ultra in this game. It is better than high. You get all lighting affects - mirrored affects on the top level.
that's what I thought. I play on ultra aswell.
I forgot about Ultra.I never mess with the graphics but I am going to try so i was curios what everyone did."Writin_Reg;c-16817408" wrote:

OP I use Ultra - which you don't have listed in this poll.
I forgot that was an option
That's okay - I wrote it in.
Thank You!"LadyKyn;c-16818009" wrote:
Ultra settings, since it's not listed here. Everything looks very gorgeous on Ultra settings as well from setting leaves fall to the light coming through the windows in homes as well as how the lights look at night.

Ultra but no uncompressed sim textures. Causes lag (really good card and more memory than sims will ever need but oh well) and it makes such a tiny difference anyway. It couldn’t go back to the low/medium settings I used to have back a few months ago. I’m spoiled now.
what does the uncompressed texture do? I am new to messing with the graphics.
