At one point we didn't have "orignal by" field so that people could take someone's sim/building and without any changes reload it as their own without crediting the original creator and guess which of the 2 people got more downloads and "likes"? I downloaded and changed stuff just around the time they added the Orginal by line-but I gave credit-in my story and in the gallery (I had to re-upload the building which I'm still using in my game today with minor tweaks here&there
you gave credit to the original creator, that is good, I am talking bout others who take the creations and try to pass it off as their own work, that is what is really wrong with the Gallery, and We do have to add our creations to the Gallery in order to keep them safe, that does not mean others can just take them and say it is their work , EA or Maxis does not claim our work as their own, Hence the difference between them and the people trying to claim Creations as their own work, when they did not make them in the first place.
But I did not say that I did that did I? If i did then I am wrong. I do not claim the creations as my own as I have never seen a creation that does not have the creators name on it that I have done over.
I have seen it many times where others did take someone's Creations and pass it off as their own, that Is what I am trying to tell others, Before the Original Creators name was put on , there was a time where anyone could pass the creation off as their own work, and that did not fly with people, which is understandable, you use the creations for your own game play, so that should not be a problem, since you say you do give the credit to the Original creator.
It is rare, laziness or error that I do not give the original creator credit as their name is on the thing. Basically I need to stay out of the part of the gallery that has cc as I seem to be making those sims over all the time. I do not use cc as this is a brand new computer as my old computer caught fire and destroyed the top floor of my home and so I am now afraid to do anything with this computer that may make it work all wonky,
sorry to hear bout the fire, hope your doing ok now though, I do not think they are talking bout everyone, just those few who are trying to take the credit for the work they did not do is all.
Yeah took 8 months before I was able to return to the house. Living in apartments were very hard on us. Husband has brain cancer and cannot move around well and upstairs only bathroom and on street parking was a real hassle for us. But we survived and are doing OK. Husband is terminal though and that is sad. But we make do.
So sorry to hear bout him, I know how that is, My Dad passed from Cancer yrs ago, I spent My New Years day in the hospital and he passed 3 days later that yr, My prayers are with you all.
A vibrant man who loved building things and made beautiful furniture and gardens that were the envy of the neighbors and he could cook up a storm, is now reduced to sitting and doing crossword puzzles reading and his tablet. Seems not worth living much, He has refused further treatment. I am way off topic. Have a good night all.
