Admittedly I haven't tried all the skills yet, but so far I think the most enjoyable skill is painting , especially since the new paint from reference after the latest patch
The least fun skill is probably charisma , which seems pointless apart from adding new social interaction options which seem insignificant with the same animation..
Painting literally turns your sims super rich in no time. Writing is not a bad second best then you have stupid music skills which take forever to write a piece at level 8. I don’t know who is responsibly for such unbalanced design.
The worst skill is cooking, but that's only because the fact that it starts fires is ridiculous. I could count the number of times I've ever used a stove irl on one hand, my cooking skill relies heavily on the microwave, and yet I have never, not once, set my kitchen on fire. And this is coming from someone who once left cookies baking in the oven until they were black.
You either have to have an incredibly unsafe/busted stove, or do something really, really stupid like heat up a pizza while leaving it in the cardboard box, to start fires while cooking irl. If you want a bad consequence to the cooking skill, it should be less than edible food or something, wasting the time and money making it, or maybe mild food poisoning at the worst of it.
One of my favorite skills is cooking and I love the chance for fires. It only happens to me on the cheapest grill. I haven't had a stove fire in a very long time in this game. There are many ways to avoid having the fires by the way @TheGoodOldGamer.. Some tips I have.. get your cook inspired, use the chef lot trait or just skill them a bit before you attempt to play with items that can burn. o:) Along with cooking I like any of the musical skills. I just like watching them as they get better at doing them. I think the only skill that's like pulling teeth for my sims is programming.

So that's how it is, huh? Oh, it's on! >:)
It's not about the chances of it happening. Thank guru it doesn't happen as often as it did in Sims 1, for sure. But really. If you're a bad cook, you're infinitely more likely to make food you can't or shouldn't eat, than you are to end up starting a kitchen fire. I just wish the game reflected this more, is all.
Fires from grills and stoves and such should be based on that item's quality, and not on the Sim's cooking skill. I mean, feel free to disagree. Even broken clocks hit the right time twice a day. ;)
@TheGoodOldGamer actually with bad lot traits, bad moods ect it's pretty easy to make poor quality food when starting off. I would think you'd have had some experience with that. The fires happen very, very seldom for me.. course what would I know I only have nearly 4k hours of game time in. And by the way... fires are often based on the items quality... the poorest grill is more likely to start more fires, same with the cheaper campfire... ect. Tsk, tsk... Seriously though if you need some pro tips don't be afraid to ask.

I am aware there is food quality changes based on skill. That's what I am saying! That's what the cooking skill should affect. Fires shouldn't be tied to the skill at all, beyond just the mere act of the item being used.
A master chef and a noobie should have equal chance of starting a fire if they're using the same grill/stove. The difference between them should be the quality of the food, or the cooking time, that sort of thing.
You're being obstinate on purpose. :p I know you know what I mean, you know?

::g:: I'm a microwave person myself (I use my stove as extra counter and storage space). However, being an insurance person, I can assure you that even microwaves can start fires - I don't know how many claims I've seen involving microwave popcorn.
Of course, Sims setting themselves on fire while cooking is a grand tradition of the Sims games. But, I do like the idea of food poisoning from bad cooks (or Sims with the 'slob' trait).
Comedy is one of my favorites besides mischief (Comedy you can literally weaponize the joke and turn them dazed or embarrass them) and mischief because it's just funny.
I can do without the bowling skill.
