- akl12268 years agoSeasoned AceI say Get Together, but I don’t have get to work or cats and dogs.
I love Windenburg and can’t imagine my game without it. The club system is amazing and a new feature to the franchise that I really enjoy. I just purchased city living less than a week ago but I can already tell it’s a close second. The apartments are much better than those in sims 3 and I love San Myshuno as well. Can I also say these two expansions really compliment one another. - GamingTweety8 years agoSeasoned AceI couldn't decide between City Living and Get Together but in the end I voted on Get Together because there are lovely premades in the pack, also don't forget the amazing world Windenburg.
- I use stuff from Get Together more than any of the others.

I was wondering which EP people like the most/which one sounds the best to you.
Get Together. This Expansion Pack is has the true definition of Expansion imo. Expansions should add new systems to our sims personality, that can add depth to their life but still making it player controlled. That system here is the Clubs. Clubs had some form of that, the same way of The Sims 2 Expansion Packs, adding new systems to make sims more unique. Clubs added a new system that groups sims into different unique clubs, with their own goals and achievements. The only difference with Sims 2 Expansion was that clubs was focused on groups and not on one sim.
A bit off Topic, but that is also the reason why Vampires and Parenthood are great. They should focus on adding Systems that will make sims more unique to each other.(such as Turn on and offs.)- @Chazzzy I agree with some of your views, especially on Cats and Dogs. I just don't get it. It got dull very quickly and completely agree the dogs are insufferably annoying at times. It doesn't help that a walk takes forever. The time seems to be measured in dog years! Players seem to be more excited about Brindleton Bay and even that isn't revolutionary.
And as for the detective career in GTW, I haven't been brave enough to play it again after the first glitch riddled attempt haha. Although I do like the concept of active careers and that you can dip in and out of it. My current sim is a doctor.
I do like Get Together but agree I dont use clubs other than to make it easier to get a group of friends together and/or to stop them leaving the lot after 2 hours. However, the gameplay included is the most valuable so far. I found City Living good but some aspects copied from Get Together e.g. festivals are like gatherings. The noisy neighbours are too much sometimes but I like the city even if one more empty lot wouldn't have hurt.
1. Get Together
2. City Living
3. Get To Work
4. Cats and Dogs
Several game packs would rank higher than some of these if I'm 100% honest. - Joanne_Snow8 years agoLegendStill CL :) I currently play a rotation of 4 families and 3 of them live in the city. I love the apartments, the feel of the city, the stalls, the festivals popping up (especially when you live in the fashion district), my restaurant there, having my cats walk around on the balcony xD Yes ... I just always use CL. I don't use GT or GTW that much, I really love having pets in the game though. All in all, I like them all, but I cannot play without the city <3
- AJC201788 years agoRising VeteranAs a new gamer to the sims 4 which 5 expansion/game/stuff packs would you recommend?
thanks. - @AJC20178
Get Together EP, City Living EP, Parenthood GP I would say bring the most gameplay, interactions and objects.
The final 2 packs would depend on your gameplay style and what you're willing to spend.
EP: if you can afford another then Get To Work I get more use out of and if your want careers, it obviously adds some. Cats and Dogs is good if you really want a pet but I find the game play limiting.
GP: I really like Spa Day as I use many of the objects in everyday Sim life like the decorations for my sims bathroom. If you want a vacation world then choose Jungle Adventure over Outdoor Retreat or both together as some of the objects in Outdoor Retreat work great with Jungle Adventure. If you like the supernatural, then Vampires is really well done and thats coming from someone who doesn't care to much about supernatural stuff. Dine Out is just a hot mess. Looks great, great idea but the meals basically take 15 hours to get seated, served etc so your sim ends up more uncomfortable then when they started and people wander around in a random, irritating fashion.
SP: Again depends on gameplay style but I really enjoyed Backyard Stuff, Laundry Day (even if it takes a while to wash things) and Perfect Patio. I would avoid Spooky Stuff (although some things go well with Vampires) and Luxury Party. The rest all have equal pros and cons like Fitness is great for CAS stuff but not new gameplay, Cool Kitchen has the ice cream maker but only one new unit and cupboard in different colours etc. - aejp248 years agoSeasoned AceThis is actually hard because I don't really use any of them too much besides the clothes and objects.
Get To Work-
I use the careers sometimes and I like the fact that there is a hospital. I just wish I could take my sims there when they get sick like I can with dogs and cats. I don't usually play with aliens either. I haven't owned a business or even played that area of gameplay.
City Living-
I was very disappointed in this expansion. I even waited to buy it on sale. I was so excited at first for apartments but when I found out we couldn't create our own or build them in other neighborhoods I was very upset. I felt like after a whole year of waiting it should have been better. We should have been able to build our own apartments, had real elevators, had different stair types, being able to build sky rises ourselves. This is also my least favorite expansion and don't usually go to the city or have sims live in the apartments.
Get Together-
I'm not sure how this is an expansion it could have easily been a game pack. The only big feature is clubs really. I love the world it comes with and I do enjoy my sims being in clubs, and I probably use this one the most. I just don't feel like it's big enough to be expansion pack worthy.
Cats and Dogs-
I have a cat in real life and I have never really looked forward to playing pets in the sims, but when I saw the trailer for the Sims 4 I actually looked forward to it this time. I don't use pets a lot but I'm glad they're in my game. Most of my sims don't have pets though and as much as I like seeing the pets from time to time I don't use pets that often. I use the objects the most though and that's how I can justify buying it.
I actually have been enjoying the game packs more. I love parenthood, dining out, and vampires, and I just bought spa day and jungle adventure. These always seem to have been done really well and keep me in the game longer. - ChampandGirlie8 years agoSeasoned AceI really like and use them all to be honest. I play with all of the worlds now and I have an integrated save that has really come together where I move around between the various locales. I only have one blank lot left in Newcrest, the largest one, and all but one of those lots are community spaces. My sims travel around the various worlds to go to venues, but Newcrest helps to tie it all together as a shared space. (I have a few blank lots left in other worlds, but just a few at this point).
I used to say GT was my official favorite. I do really like WB a lot and I played with a lot of the pre-mades so I've gotten a lot out of it. That said, I use and like all of the worlds. I think they are all beautiful and immersive spaces. My sim households adapt to whichever world they live in.
I labeled GTW my least favorite but I generally still like it. I'm just not into the alien play, personally. I cancel out of male abductions which do happen in my game. I also delete the aliens from my game whenever they generate. (They don't generate in disguises in my game). That's just my playstyle, I have no issue with others playing with them though. I do play with the active careers from time to time. I've edited the police station and hospital townies to have the feeling that I want (diverse, all genders employed, not all elders except for a boss). With the bug fixes, I do like GTW and I do sometimes have sims enter playable careers. It gets trickier when they have families, so I tend to pause aging for those sims on days that I send them to work.
Nearly all of my families have pets now and I think BB is gorgeous. I converted the bar into a restaurant (with a bar) so my sims can go there any time. Having recently visited the country club lounge, I'm going to keep it in my game and make it a social hang out for the very rich and for snobs. Maybe I'll create a snobby club for it.
I know that some people panned CL, but I play with it a lot. I find the festivals replayable with different sims. They are there as options for any of my sims to go to. I like the variety of new foods. I also like the buzzy feel of the city. I've incorporated some of the pre-mades and I've added other sims that live in a bunch of the apartments. San Myshuno's affordable and nice apartments are nearly all gone so that there is a waiting list to move there. Sims have to try to use connections or hope that a place becomes available if they want to move there, or else they have to compromise.
