What lifespan setting do you play on and why? I almost always play on Long lifespan. My main save is on Long. I have used Normal on a few other saves, but I pretty much never use those saves.I have even used MCCC to make the Adult lifespan just SLIGHTLY longer because I felt like my two currently adult Sims needed a bit more time before ageing up. I don't find Long lifespan too long at all. In fact, I love it. I feel like a have plenty of time to play with them in each lifestage without it feeling rushed, but I also love having a set day that they age up. I don't play with aging off because I want them to age. I don't like being in charge of deciding when they age up. That isn't fun for me. I like having to go with the flow and agonizingly wait for my newborns and toddlers to age up into children. Lol. So, Long lifespan is pretty perfect. Which lifespan do you play in and why? I love seeing how different people play the game.

I play aging off because I get really attached to my sims and I don't want them to age at all. The only sims I age up are babies and sometimes toddlers. I have some toddlers that I want to stay toddlers forever.

Aging off, because I don't want to spend a lot of time on sims leveling them up and completing aspirations only for them to eventually die and make everything I did meaningless.

I personally don't see it as meaningless. Not to make things morbid, but we all die here in the real world too. Does the fact that we are going to die someday make everything that we do meaningless? I certainly hope not.

I play aging off because I get really attached to my sims and I don't want them to age at all. The only sims I age up are babies and sometimes toddlers. I have some toddlers that I want to stay toddlers forever.

Wow. I could never do toddlers forever. The 40 days or whatever it is on Long Lifespan is plenty long enough for me. They tire me out! Respect that you can do that.

Interesting perspective. I personally don't see it as meaningless. Not to make things morbid, but we all die here in the real world too. Does the fact that we are going to die someday make everything that we do meaningless? I certainly hope not.

I still do 14 day seasons though. That's plenty enough for me and children and teens get like one full year just about exactly before they age up, so I like that.

Normal. It's not too short, not too long. I don't like a generation to go by too quickly, but I can also get bored if it takes too long to move on to the next generation.

Yeah, I was thinking to set the seasons to 14 days, so that my Sims child & teen can enjoy all the seasons... but I'm worried that the holidays got crammed in. I might set it to 14 days soon after the year ended and see if it's working better for the family :).. I have been playing almost 2 years in Sims calendar for this particular saved.

I only do one or two holidays per season (except for winter which has four), so it doesn't seem like too much for me. I feel like for me the holidays are just so much work. Because my family is so large I find holidays just become a stressful thing where I'm trying to get all of the goals done for everyone so that they aren't sad the next day.
So I've cut back on holidays and cut back on what they have to do during each holiday to make it more fun for me. I mainly play Seasons for the changing weather which I LOVE, so I play 14 day seasons so that I can see everything faster.

I play on normal, but turn aging on and off as I see fit (play out a story, gain a skill, advance career, etc).
