What order did you get the sims in?

The Sims 3, The Sims 2, The Sims 4, The Sims. But I haven't played the original.

Sims 3 - Sims 4 - Sims 2

Only played Sims 3 base game and few expansions before buying Sims 4. Tried playing Sims 2 but the graphics, CAS etc was so bad I lost interest in it without getting to the gameplay.

I have Sims 2 Castaway (I think it’s called?) for my PSP though, not bad gameplay, but I prefer Sims 3 & 4.

I did sims 3, sims 2, sims 4. Good memories! I always wanted to give sims 1 a try but it does not appear to be available for purchase.
