- LarrikatevenSeasoned RookieMy instinct would be to combine some of these ideas, because if you're having trouble deciding what to do, keeping things dynamic might help you stay engaged with it. I'd say start with two roommate Sims and plop them down in the haunted house. Give them a bit of time to build up their careers and play the haunted-ness of the house, then have them fall in love and explore the Wedding Stories. And then, when you are ready, bring on a baby. As long as the two adult Sims get along moderately well, it should work (unless, I suppose, you really want a challenge--then you can have two adult Sims with conflicting traits.)
- ChungytoonNew SpectatorHmm... Could go for a combination of all of them! Assuming you're up to the task, that is.
A conservationist buys an island that, unbeknownst to them, is haunted. They're currently engaged AND attending university with an aspiring chef who seems to have terrible luck cooking on the haunted island. Not only that, but the couple are expecting a baby sometime soon! Together, they must build a home fit for a family with little to no funds and student loans to pay.
Might be a bit much, but I think it would be interesting. If you still want to play in Forgotten Hollow, you can use that instead with the rags to riches idea. - all the things you have yet to do: wedding stories, infants, forgotten hollow ;)
- I voted this, as never played the haunted house before myself, still in my to do-list  I have the house already, got that far :D
- SweetieWright_84New SpectatorStart with the uni students (around 4 young adults) and see where their relationships lead as they navigate university and life beyond that. Maybe two of them couple up, get married, unknowingly buy a haunted house in Forgotten Hollow. Trying to raise an infant in a haunted house should be fun. Have one of the other sims, decide to go off the grid in Henford-on-Bagley, and the other be the conservationist. Rotate between the households to see how their friendships change and evolve while dealing with the obstacles placed in front of them.
Some of my favorite households were born from roommates and/or families that I rotated between. I also find it easier to rotate between households that are connected in some way or another (living in the same world, from the same family, or having been roommates previously). - moppy14wSeasoned NewcomerAweSim. Currently working on a haunted house in Forgotten Hallow where a couple (including an Unlucky Chef I think) will take up residence. I'm actually surprised from the vibe of the place and the great lots I found on the Gallery looking for just the right one.
Eventually the couple should marry (I'm going to try see about starting them engaged, but the scenario is going to interfere...) and the house has plenty of room (though a baby in a haunted house... :o )
Sulani dreams will have to wait but if I get that far the offspring will want sunlight, sunlight, sunlight instead of the endless fog and probably buy an island.. - manicobsessive1Seasoned NewcomerYeah, I think you should combine some of the things you have yet to explore. That's what I'm trying to do right now, because I have SO much I want to try out. If I tried to do it one generation at a time, I don't think I'll ever get round to it!
- atreya33Seasoned VeteranThose are all interesting ideas. I would go for a young engaged couple with a baby on the way. And because they are broke it would also be rags to riches style. They could live in sulani or forgotten hollow, whatever suits your style. If I were to start this story I would probably end up with something supernatural like a spellcaster or an alien but that's personal flavour.
- MaggieMae7276Seasoned NoviceI chose the haunted house mainly because it's October with Halloween coming soon, and what better way to celebrate than a spooky story? I also really enjoy the Paranormal haunted houses myself as it can be quite a challenge to manage, and a lot of fun! I have one storyline where 2 people find a haunted abandoned house and move in, with no money, so it's also a rags to riches story. They work together to slowly fix the place up and learn the medium skill to rid the house of it's haunting. They eventually fall in love, marry and start a family. So can incorporate Wedding Stories as well. And then the children grow and go on to college. I should have chosen the combination. I agree with @Larrikateven that a combination is best. But then again, marriage, children, college fits with any family style gameplay so no matter how you start out you can play with them all along the way!
