I build my sims' homes and skills. I'll do an aspiration if I want the reward trait. But I'm very picky on what skills I'll have my sim learn. I'll play a sim for awhile and if they learn the wrong skill and I haven't saved the game, I'll scrap that save and start over. I usually only save when I quit the game or if I remember to save before doing something I'm not sure about the result.
For example, I was getting the first order aspiration. I was trying to figure out if a sim was human, she had a spot on her forehead and looked human. There was an option to ask her what that spot was and I thought it was about the spot on her forehead, instead it was a mischief option. I was totally unhappy with it giving my sim the mischief skill and hadn't saved before clicking that response, and I had played for the entire day without saving. I deleted the save, but when I tried to download the sim from my gallery for my new game, everything had a red x and I couldn't download her. The random sim that the game gave me when I started a new game was pretty and I didn't need to adjust her weight. So now I'm having her learn the skills she needs to know before going to Batuu. I also was able to fix my game so I can download from my gallery again.
