What would be so fun about Hotels?

I get the discontent but I don't agree it should be part of this pack. I'm hoping a hotel system like that will get a dedicated GP. Personally I want to run little motels .. definitely not resorts and have my sims go to them. Hopefully I'll get my simmers wish one day.
As for why it would be fun. For me it's about storytelling and feeling more immersed. I want to play out Norman Bates running his little dive motel. I'd like to run a no-tell motel that Don Lothario can sneak off too with various conquests. I'd also like to put hotels in Sulani and other areas my sims may not live in to explore those areas.. I know it sounds mundane but I like to collect and fish and get a change of atmosphere and I usually do that now by having my sims "squat" in other sims homes or by setting up a community lot and pretending its a motel or B&B. It seems right they should have a place to rent at least to do that in all worlds (crossing fingers for rentals in more than this world by the way). It would be very limiting to me for a large resort to be only available in one area for sure. I'd probably go once and rarely if ever go again.

I built a hotel for Newcrest, and use it for multiple purposes, like events. It's a huge building with a lot of things to do, including wandering off for woohoo and partying all night because hey, you can sleep it off and keep going. When I bother turning on mods, it's a great place to hold the Prom. It gets annoying having the game decide which venues you can use for which events. Why not one for all of them?

Anyway, as far as I'm concerned: party venue.

I have a bad habit of building hotels knowing they wont function as a hotel. I think I have around 10 built across my 2 saves. Usually they're just set dressing, but other times I use them for sims cheating on their spouses or other...illicit activity.

Plus I do want my sims to properly "vacation" in other worlds. Maybe I want a sim to have a business trip in San Myshuno. Maybe I want a family vacation in Oasis Springs. Honeymoon in Sulani? Yes please! This expands on storytelling possibilities.

Like restaurants, you don't need to run it to have fun. But it is fun to create restaurants that fit a theme, like a pizzeria, or seafood restaurant, or a very expensive restaurant. Same with hotels, you could have a shabby roadside motel, or a five star one, add different amenities and entertainment options like casino, pool, fancy bar and restaurant, expensive spa treatments, disco nights, tourist tours, themed parties, etc. Rent out rooms for tourists, or for lovers, conference rooms for club meetings, ballrooms for parties and weddings, etc. It's always fun to see who checks in. :lol: Also, rooms are cheaper than renting a whole house and you don't have to cook and clean.

hotels isnt a must have for me. but id happily take them if they decided to bring them into the game. i did enjoy running a resort in the sims 3. and i loved visiting hotels in the sims 2. i think if they add hotels it will be in a gp dedicated to them like running a resteraunt it. and it could be runnable but also just there for your sims to check out. but i hope its not stuck in one world. it would be cool to have a hotel in willow creek, and sulani too. different places. but if they dont add them ill probably just play the sims 2 or 3 if i get into that hotel mood. visiting one sims 2 all the way. running one of course the sims 3. but maybe sims 4 could make it even better.

I'd like to try running a hotel just because it sounds like it could be fun. I didn't play Sims 3 so I've never done that in a sims game before.

The only reason I particularly wanted it in the upcoming pack was that it would be a game-wide addition that I could use in other worlds. Right now all the new gameplay that has been described so far seems to fit in the new world only, kind of like Sulani, and I'd rather it had a wider reach.

I’ve never really been that interested running a business in the Sims games. I did have a little shop in the Sims 2 which was fun and also I remember my sims staying in a hotel in the Sims 2 which was also fun. It’s just a different way for sims to a vacation and I can’t see that being a bad addition to the game.

Literally the first thing that comes to my mind when people say they want hotels in Sims 4. ?

Personally I would prefer to have rental-lots so that my sims could rent a house in different worlds.

So I am very interested in being able to visit every world, not just living there, just less keen on hotels.

If I could build small apartments that sims could live in that would be another matter.

I'm not very interested in running a hotel myself. I only have one vet clinic (and no restaurants), and I rarely actively manage the vet clinic.
