- i'm a bad builder and my laptop is quite bad so i prioritize the utility of the house rather than its looks. sometimes i just get a house from the gallery (or keep those that already come in the game) but remove the furniture. the house inside is a mess but at least it keeps a pretty neighborhood
- Favourite house type varies. Normally traditional (tiny home or medium sized) but with huge windows. I really love having lots of windows.

I made a house with all windows all around and put it on the land where the museum sits in Brindelton. - I'm not too picky as to style. Generally I prefer houses that are at max 2 stories above ground, and a single basement below ground for items I don't want to have in the above ground living spaces (home gyms, workrooms, etc.). I'll download larger homes/mansions from the Gallery mainly for looks and to house Sims I'm not actively playing. Favorite lot size is 40x30 -- it gives enough space to have the type of house I like while leaving enough room for a decent sized yard for gardening/family activities.

What's your favorite house type? Big, Small, Modern, Rustic . . .
How often do you download Lots from the Gallery, and do you use them right away or store them for another time?
My faves are victorian big houses. I used to download a lot from the gallery. Atm im playing offline, so i can't. I ised to download at the moment that i wanted a lot and used it right away. "catmando830;d-983625" wrote:

I prefer small-ish homes. Usually one level. I'm eclectic, so I base the style on what I think the sim is about. And it depends on how I see them in the world of my sim community. Some are poor, some are mega-rich.
I will dl from the gallery if it's a house style I am not good at. That's usually big old victorian homes or such. But when I DL, I dl it unfurnished. And I find I usually make changes to it.
I also dl if I am in a hurry for something and don't feel like taking the time to build it. But again, unfurnished.- NateWhiplash5 years agoSeasoned AceI'm not very good at building, so my homes tend to be pretty simple, and are usually on the smaller side (12x20 is about as big as I usually go). It's very rare that I download something from the gallery
- RouenSims5 years agoSeasoned AceI download a LOT of small- to medium-sized Midcentury Modern lots with attractive landscaping. I just can't stop myself! I'd probably have to play for a hundred years to use them all, but at least I have them in my library. :)
I also love cabins and other natural-style lots. I downloaded one last night and actually used it right away instead of just storing it like a Midcentury Lot Librarian.
I build about half of my houses.
Now I'll be on the hunt for 70s houses with split-level living rooms! - My current house is 40x30 Gothic mansion with each individual room following different styles. Some more modern, some gothic. The house is 2 floors tall with second "House" located underground, also 2 stories.

Overall I prefer Gothic or modern designs, with size being relatively irrelevant. - OldeSimsFan5 years agoSeasoned AceVictorian, often from one of the many period plans I have. I like large lots so there's ample room for gardens and orchards. Have experimented with making the apt. I live in. Poor sim!
