Hidden households are households that don't appear in the other household tabs and are usually reserved for Sims with special roles. With MCCC, if you click on a mailbox go MC Cheats > Sim/Household Cheats you can check which households are hidden and choose to unhide (and show them in the other households tab) or hide households. If you delete Baby Ariel, her replacements will respawn and be in the hidden households. The only households I have hidden are the paparazzi and the mermaids I made. I flagged them to never age and hid them away.
