I don't have Eco Lifestyle, Snowy Escape, Island Living, Horse Ranch, For Rent, Discover University.
From the ones I do own I definitely have most issues with HSY yet I still feel like it’s fulfilling the purpose I got it for: gives teenagers more identity. Really, my teens could basically go their whole life state without ever interacting with other teens. With HSY they actually seem to have gotten into that "teenage bubble" instead of just being some watered down YA's who have to go to school.
That being said, I'd only recommend HSY with some big fat ifs. If it's on hefty sale, if you don't have many expectations, if you really want more stuff for teenagers, if you don't mind having werewolf transformation animations broken. Ok, that last one actually really bothers me. It's a glitch for active family occult transformation animations (most notable with werewolves since it's so lengthy) and seems to only fix itself when HSY is disabled. My kneejerk reaction was to almost do that but then surmised that it's not worth it for such a specific issue that is not game breaking.
Anyhow, the pack's gameplay is shallow and I wouldn't recommend it for most people (who care about gameplay). Yet for me it was still worth it (on sale) because I feel like it IS fixing something that has been missing in my gameplay.
