- When I saw the Eco Lifestyle trailer, I thought, "That's what I want—an expansion that takes progression further, allowing you to improve not only your lot but also the neighborhood". However, I didn't take the care to read about the mechanics of neighborhood actions. The base mechanics are fine, but some of the plans don't make sense and can potentially permanently damage your world. Since then, I always carefully review the specific options of each expansion. I don't like those kinds of surprises.
There are many expansions that I didn't like because they didn't add any new interesting mechanics, but at least they didn't ruin my game. I liked Get to Work; unfortunately, it's one of the few expansions that met my expectations. - thefirsttemplar2 years agoSeasoned AceWeird that eco is put with snowy escape since eco is the worst and snowy escape might be the best one.
Snowy Escape is a rare one that's not boring of the expansion packs, usually it's the game packs that offer the more interesting content. - ChampandGirlie2 years agoSeasoned AceMy old answer was Get To Work and that is probably still true. I agree that it seems kind of dated and I think the playable careers could be a bit better. I still played with it and had fun but it can be buggy. Even the other day, I was playing a playable medical worker, the father in a large family, and when his day ended he didn't go home correctly meaning that the screen that ends the workday and sends him home didn't pop up. To fix it, I exited out of the game and went back into his household at home and called him back home only to find that he was now listed as unemployed. So, I got him a new job but then he was still getting called by the medical job for not being at work even though the career was no longer listed in his career panel and he now had a new job. So, that's obviously a bug and not one I'd seen before. Annoying.
I've had a lot of fun with Get Together and I love the world of Windenburg. I played a lot with the pre-mades from that pack and basically all of them ended up in my game somehow. I love some of the lots like the ones out on the island and the way that you can go from a beautiful old town to winding countryside that has elements of both Britain and Germany. I like the lots and I've done a lot with it. That said, I've realized that I really did not like most of the CAS/BB from that pack. It feels very dated and I pretty much always feel like I need to renovate if anything gets used from that pack. It may just be that I don't like some of the style but I think that more recent packs have had better CAS/BB. I'd say that from around Seasons and Pets, I've liked the style a lot better. This just means that I find a lot of the objects and clothes from Get Together to be ugly and unappealing. I think they do a better job with that stuff now.
I also want to add that while I love cafes, the one in Get Together was always bugged and it was hard to use it. - Briana25262 years agoSeasoned AceHorse Ranch just felt so bare.

Imposdible maybe, but not impossible. Sims 3 had packs that size. Horses and pets where one pack there so that gives a pretty good idea that it would have been possible. - simsister2 years agoSeasoned AceHigh school years and the wedding pack. They are just aughful both of them. I have disabled the wedding pack, at will not be buying the High School one. I can do without the latest expansion, too and especially the "upgrade"/patch before it, but I can't choose NOT to upgrade. Now I have to wait for the darn bugs to be fixed.
- MaggieMae72762 years agoSeasoned AceIf I had to choose, I would pick High School Years and University, mainly because of disappointment in the way gameplay works. I loved Uni in the previous games as I could put a group into dorms and play them all through together. I miss that. I don't use mods and know you can work around it by living off-campus, but I want them all to complete their graduations together and you can't do that. High School is also disappointing with the way the gameplay is in the school day. I did build my own and can enjoy that. I wanted the ability to have body hair, so was happy we got that, but the default in CAS really should have been no body hair or growth unless we wanted it. I expect bugs, as there always are some in the games (also in the older sims games). They usually do fix them, so I try to be patient and wait for the fixes. But with the new technology I would hope that bugs would become less of an issue/problem. I do love playing my sims, so I will continue to play and deal with the issues as they come. I have the For Rent, but haven't really played it yet, partly due to lack of time but also because of bugs I saw on videos and that others have mentioned here. I will wait to change my rentals over to the new when the bugs are fixed. So back to my favorite gameplay, my haunted farm! Hoping to find time to play between my holiday preparations so I can have my sims enjoy the holidays with their family, specters and ghosts! My sims really love their farm life!
