High School Years.
I do like the updated animations and the new voice lines for teens and the cas and bb but there is nothing to do at the high school, you get a few tasks like talk to a student and a teacher. Classes consist of watching your sims looking at the teacher talking. No active classes, no goals, you don't need any skills, only a random chance card shows up sometimes and after school activities are just rabbit holes as well as the amusement park which is not an actual lot. They didn't implement anything like what we saw in Get To Work or Discover University where we had things we could craft, unlock, different tasks, active organizations. We can't choose which sims that show up to the high school either.
Everything seems to instead focus around prom with it happening every week, but the actual prom event is too short and the "showing up before prom" and "after party" event consists of your sims just standing still doing nothing. The new social bunny is good for sims to keep being friends without seeing each other but the app also spams random messages.
Apart from that, we get a few new rabbit hole careers and we can create outfits and drink tea at a thrift store which is ...fine but not what I expected for a pack that was supposed to focus on the high school part of our sims lives.
But I also would like to say that I think a more proper word to use than "dislike" is "disappointed" in my case, I was really looking forward to this pack and was very disappointed with it.
HSY gets much better if you build your own school with more activities. I love that pack for the body hair feature ☀️ - meeshwood2 years agoSeasoned AceGet to work is my least favorite. Get together is one of my favorite and most used packs so it's funny that you have those two paired together
- sleepsinbloom2 years agoRising AdventurerUnfortunately, Cats & Dogs. Cottage Living was in place of it, but I find Cats & Dogs now taking the place of least favorite. It really isn't the fault of the pets or world though; it just fell out of favor for me as I no longer play households or own pets in any household in that world for my saves. It's still pretty during winter though.
- GrumpyGlowfish2 years agoSeasoned AceCity Living, though Cats and Dogs is also among my least favourites, so I don't mind them being packed together for this poll.
EPs should introduce gameplay elements to enhance our sims' lives no matter where they live, but City Living focuses too much on its world. Be it the careers if you play them actively, the new aspiration or the festivals, and of course the apartments – everything requires you to live in or at least frequently visit San Myshuno, you can't even create your own festivals outside of it. That wouldn't be so much of a problem for me if I actually liked the world and its activities, I do love Snowy Escape after all despite it suffering from the same problem. But I'm just not that much into big cities. If this pack was less about the city and more about the apartments, allowing us to build our own wherever we want, that would change my mind. - leucosiax2 years agoSeasoned AceI find Eco Lifestyle pretty obnoxious. I clicked off it's gameplay in settings but sometimes annoying things still happen like they turn off the electricity or water to some vote. The paper bags over the heads is just ridiculous. I know they are trolling political activist but, come on...
I kind of like the world, and the apartments, but it would be among my less favorite. I think it may be just me and my game, but the things you can do in the game, candlemaking, fabication- doesnt work. Also there was a time where evergreen harbor had no floor in the world- but I fixed that by uninstalling and reinstalling-
not sure if that trauma had anything to do with my opinion. - GracieFace3122 years agoSeasoned AceIsland
LivingDying of boredom... - It's not that I don't like these packs I'm going to list, they both offer something useful to the game, but right now my least favorite are
Eco, and Get to work.
Eco because the Sims are stealing or sharing by taking things out of public places like night clubs, bar stools, tables, sofas etc.
Get to work because there are too many Aliens and they go everywhere my Sim does and try to talk to them and I know if you are friendly with them they can abduct you and I don't want my Sim abducted and pregnant.
I installed a mod to take the Aliens out of the game.
*edited to correct typos - keekee532 years agoSeasoned AceLiterally both of them.
I keep trying to have a unique experience during University but it is always a grind. I even added places to go on the weekends but still it is just boring. Nothing ever happens.
IL is just boring. Even vacationing there is boring, there is nothing to really do there. At least with snowy escape you can ski, hike, mountain climb, snowboard etc. - leucosiax2 years agoSeasoned Ace

For me it's Growing Together.
For our way to play this pack gave us nothing and imo the world is boring and unappealing.
Build/buy also not our taste and cas was the worst, imo.
Followed by Seasons, which ruined my beloved gardening for us.
For me a pack stands and falls with the world.
That's where we spend the most of our time. Then build/buy, then cas and then gameplay.
If I had to give points I would evaluate like this:
(All EP under 5 points are a bad buy for me.)
Empty (blurry ?) template below the spoiler
@Lenny_Ogg
I really like Get Famous. For a story teller, this pack has a lot to offer. The poses from acting and the film set objects, for example.
And I like Del Sol Valley.
And even though I was very upset when Highschool Years was announced, I really learned to love it.
Copperdale is created with so much love and I love the teenage lifestage. Build/buy and cas is excellent too.
Same for Eco Lifestyle. I like Evergreen Harbor a lot. And the change of the world is so awesome.
Even though I only gave six points these are solid packs I wouldn't want to miss.
I think with ~40€/$ these Expansions are very expensive.
Baldur's Gate 3, for example, costs ~60€/$. A full excellent game.
They should really put a bit more effort in the packs for the money, imo.
I hear you @Lenny_Ogg and while it's not my least- I really think it lacks luster. Growing together would have been possibly one the the best if it were really bring playable babies life stage to the game- however - because the Sims team did not want to put a new life stage behind a paywall, it was an update. So basically all the pack offered was friendship bracelets and a planned stay over- Really- that's it? that's not an expansion pack, even if you make a special waste basket just for diapers. changing tables- that's it?
not ever strollers.
New venue type is what? a library you can play board games in?!! you can sleep over there?
I have never slept over in a public building my entire like and I'm not about to start virtually unless there's an evacuation order.
The movie theater was a potentially rad new venue type. Anything fun really. I wish they hire me to play test for them.
While I hear you @Lenny_Ogg on the world making or breaking the expansion pack, I woulf have to disagree, with you low points value towards Chestnut Ridge. It's actually becoming one of my favorite worlds and visiting the others worlds, finding it hard to hold up, considering it's size and vastness. I believe they will have to make all the worlds this big from now on, especially if they are giving us cars,(undoubtedly).
I heard you on San Sequoia too. I really really wanted to love it, but I can't. While my weekend of barely playing but revamping all worlds, I sort of fixed it for me in my head. I visited San Francisco in real life and it's a wonderful city.
I put some townhouses down in San Sequoia- This they should have added to the game. I have found a new fun for this world now. I hope they add townhouses as a new venue type, so we have have multiple families, however, like roommates, not playable. Also like a low key city, multipurpose lots would make the game so much more dynamic. If they would have introduced it in this world- it would have worked. - charlottekn2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought this. I bought some of the earlier expansions, but this one seemed actually mean spirited on the part of EA. I'm not sure trolling your customers is a great idea.
