When are fish EVER going to be more interactive to be an actual pet?

Since stocking a fish bowl or aquarium is mostly just for looks alone as they don't die. This has bugged me to no end since I had this game not having some simple interactions with the fish like fe...

I mean there's not much else to fish besides feeding, cleaning, and flushing fish down the toilet if it dies. XD

Actually, do cats even interact with the decorative fish in the aquariums or bowls? I haven't really checked.
