When Setting Up Your Save And…

You forget that one little thing. Yeah. I had to shut down before I did that one last thing. I failed to turn off NS under Game Option. :open_mouth: Lost Bella Goth, as a result.. Too bad, but at least that's what alerted me. Phew!

What one little thing or things do you often forget when setting up your game saves?
  • Thank you, that's very kind, but for the most part, I don't play the Townies or NPCs. It's just nice having the supportive cast in the background, you know?
  • Yeah I get it, I don't play TS4 premades either. I was just trying to smuggle Bella 2022 away from my saves!

When I set up my game saves, I usually turn off rain and thunderstorms (I don’t love how gloomy my game appears when it rains). Occasionally I forget this step and end up with a thunderstorm ruining a beautiful wedding in Windenburg or something.

I’ve learned from my mistake though! I’ve saved my weather options in my custom base save, so now when I “save as” to make a new game, I have my custom weather options already there..along with my custom holidays, custom lots, and custom townies..all that fun stuff!
  • I had rain and thunderstorms turned off in my save that went 'missing'. This time, I decided if the rain got to be too much, again. I would turn it off, then. I also do the save as, for each gaming session. It's far easier to do a save recovery that way. And believe me, sometimes I just have to do a Take-Two, Scene-Two. :open_mouth:
  • I always remember my weather, EL and NS settings. But while remodeling the homes and venues I plan to use I often forget the indoor wastebaskets, outdoor garbage bins, sinks and thermostats. On occasion I have also forgotten to place stairs leading to the front porches. The NS running without my knowing caused a massive increase in the population and I never forgot about it again. Even Raj and his mother had a newborn in that save. I don't want to speculate on how that happened. :/
  • For some saves of my games, I have a lot, because I have different stories for each one.
I went through Neighborhood Stories for most of my saves, and kept what I wanted and discarded ones I didn't want.
In newer saves, I don't go through them, and keep them as is.
