When to Pop the Question?

Erik and three of his siblings, plus his girlfriend are near the end of their second term of three in Uni. They are all still Teens at this moment. Since Infants and GT are very close to release, I'm pondering just when Erik should pop the question.

Should he

  • Hmm, tough one! It could make it more special to wait until her birthday/graduation, I can’t decide which would be better though! Maybe on her birthday since it’s sooner.
  • Right before the finals and at her birthday sounds like a lot of pressure, that's why I'd normally say wait until after graduation.

But knowing these two are your special sims, who are meant to be together, there probably is no risk. We sims players have some serious advantage over our poor sims, always (often) knowing who is Mr./Mrs. Right :)

I'm also looking at the logistics. We are down to 8 days before Infants drop. This is the couple chosen to go through Infants, first, poor souls. LOL ( I shall likely make every mistake in the book.) *On the other side of that thought, knowing their relationship is secure, may remove any angst in that department, clearing the mind for the finals.
  • I think Erik should ask her now. It might give them a bit of a head start to get everything planned before the infants come. (something about that sentence sounds ominous haha) However, if the end of the term is only a few days away, maybe just wait until her birthday. (It would be very romantic.)
  • I think it would be nice to ask the question while studying, best at the end of their studies and then have the actual marriage after graduation. That way they can get ready for a family and get a house and place to live when they get married.
  • Birthdays and graduations are special events in their own right, and planning a wedding is a big distraction when studying. Maybe Erik should book a well-earned vacation for them both after graduation and propose while there.

Yes, due to the time-constraint, I went ahead and continued my game play. I did check back here, often, to see what the consensus opinion was, but they have made it to the weekend. Term is over. Now, they have to study like mad to be ready for Monday's classes. Yikes. Another holiday to jump in the way. Two, if you count Night on the Town. I may start purging the calendar of the many ridiculous 'holidays' which really aren't. Of course, Saturday is New Year's Eve. Let's see if Erik can give Kayleigh a kiss at midnight. It so didn't work out a couple of save prior. :open_mouth:

That's a lovely idea, but I don't think either set of parents would gaze kindly at such a move. I would sincerely hate for Erik to get off on the wrong foot with his would be father-in-law, who is a Captain in the military, and very stern. I'll end up with the Mikkelsen scenario. :open_mouth:

Yes, the wedding will have to take place after graduation. The house is already built, I just have to place it on the prospective lot in HoB. Erik also has the Starlight Accolades this coming Sunday to top off his very busy, insane, weekend. He's up for number five.
