I agree with OP. I don't think the game is built very well engine wise. And also what Cupid said, the Gurus had to compromise world sizes so that they're won't be huge performance issues, etc.
I have a more than decent laptop on almost ultra settings and it doesn't run the game well at all especially in the new worlds and if you're playing it on a big lot. With my laptop's specs, this shouldn't be a problem in the first place but the fps drops and fluctuation is just very obvious to me and it bothers me to the point that makes it frustrated to play the game.
Sometimes I wish they can just ship all this stuff to a new engine and make it optimized better but I'm not sure how hard that is gonna be. ?
That being said, I'm not sure if the number of packs is the reason why we're having more and more performance issues. But in my opinion, it is just how they create the new worlds that's the problem cuz Willow Creek and Oasis Springs doesn't have the fps problems on my end.
