When You Direct the Wrong Sim …

I once had my sim go to the nightclub and while she was dancing, her boyfriend showed up. There were several people around him and I clicked on him for her to embrace him. Well, I thought I clicked on him. I instead clicked on a guy next to him who happened to also be a friend of hers. I freaked out and so did her boyfriend. Her friend was the only happy one as it created a romance bar with him. It took some making up on my sims part. Lol.

I have had my fair share of directing the wrong sim to do things many times. I can't think of anything at the moment but I've had many marriages strained or ended because I clicked the wrong sim.

I do this all the time... usually when I'm selected on one sim but have the camera focused on another. Sometimes I can catch it in time but other times... yeah.

Oh how I wish I could have seen that. The mental image I have is hilarious.

That happens to me quite frequently but usually I manage to catch it in time. I'm always giving tasks to a sim who's off lot then wondering why the preferred sim is ignoring me.

LOL, That sort of thing has definitely happened to me a few times. When I first switched from playing 3 to 4, I was getting used to the new UI and I think it was throwing me off, so I kept trying to get my sim to go to the backyard to garden, and then I would just move the camera to check on the other sims, then move to the backyard, she wasn't there, so I told her to do it again, then continued moving the camera around, on the third pass of her not being there I started talking smack to my screen. I was like what in the heck is wrong with your for criminy sake. GO GARDEN. Cept my language was little more flavourful.. I was also like, your sister is there, all on her own, what is YOUR problem... :/

Yeah, it wasn't my sharpest moment.. lol

Mostly I just do the thing where I think I'm telling Sim A to do something, and they don't, so I keep telling them to do it over and over getting annoyed and saying "why aren't you doing this thing!?"

And then I realize that Sim B has that action in their queue 20 times now...

I've done that.
I miss the Sims 2 and Sims 3 floating heads being in the action/social bloom.
You knew who was selected because their head was right there.

Sometimes it leads to interesting situations like having the wrong sim flirt with someone.
