Not in The Sims 4. Autonomy is deeply broken. They barely do what you ask them to do, let alone interesting things on their own. I don't know what game are you playing, but Sims in 4 are as boring as they get. All they do is kiss each other on the cheek, watch TV and take care of their needs (sometimes).
