Where are the worlds in relation to each other?

If all the worlds were on one connected map, where would they be?

I've always thought Windenburg to be north of San Myshuno based on the trees you see in the world view of SM. I've also thought that the river running through SM widens into the bay in Windenburg. Magnolia Promenade is likely very close to Willow Creek and Newcest lies somewhere between SM/Windenburg and Willow Creek

  • In my mind, everything isn't exact. Some worlds are difficult for me to set a location in relation to the real world due to the blending of environments and terrain, but I basically think of them like this:

SM is like San Francisco, although I sometimes pretend it's NYC as well, the Spice District in particular. Windenburg is Western Europe to me, specifically southern Germany in the old city, or Austria along the alps in the countryside, especially where the estate is, but I sometimes imagine the countryside is England for gameplay purposes. BB is northeast USA, like coastal Maine down to The Cape and Nantucket Islands. WC is deep south US anywhere from New Orleans to Atlanta, and NC and MP are neighboring suburbs. FH is settled deep with in the Carpathian Mountains in Romania's Transylvanian region. OS is southwest US, namely Arizona. GF is in the Rocky Mountains. SD is obviously the jungles of Central and South America.

My only small annoyance about this is the immersion factor. I love being able to travel anywhere we want, but seeing the same sims in all the worlds break it a bit lol.

Interesting how many people imagine Forgotten Hollow as European! I never even considered it would be near Windenburg. I imagine it as a version of “Sleepy Hollow”, a place inspired by a real town in New York State (USA). I’m from PA/NY (right on the border) and trust me, there are old creepy places like that with a lot of Victorian influence in America :D

Same. But I guess it could be inspired by many different countries and stories really, so probably could see it fit in with America or Europe. I am also reminded more of the story Sleepy Hollow, I am assuming that is where it gotten it's name from. I can see a world based off of Salem Massachusetts for witches since it is really famous for the witch trials.

I guess most of the people that imagine it being in Europe are Europeans like myself. I am a lot closer culturally and physically to the region that birthed the myth of Dracula and to the one that created that kind of architecture.
  • I know this is an old thread, but this is what I have gathered from just reading https://sims.fandom.com/ and just making good guesses for everything else:

  • And Del Sol Valley could be somewhere between San Myshuno and Oasis Springs, but closer to the latter?

Interesting! I was thinking about them if they were in a completely different world with geography different than our own but this works well too. San Myshuno strikes me as more Japanese than Chinese.
  • Pixelade just posted this map yesterday. I love it!

  • I like to imagine that San Myshuno and Del Sol Valley are in the same general region, with San Myshuno being like San Francisco and Del Sol Valley being like Los Angeles. So they'd be fairly close to each other with San Myshuno in the north and Del Sol Valley in the south.

That's really cool I like the editing! I think it would make more sense to have Oasis Springs in the south.

    I agree.
  • I'm currently making a drawing of a huge map of all the Sims 4 worlds- I'll post it when I'm done!
