Have you already collected all the Achievements? You can check in the game options menu and there are also some hidden ones like "Have a sim experience bladder failure on a lot with 8 toilets".

If you're done with that, you could try a challenge where you hamper yourself with restrictions. Raising six kids on just a single part time job income (no selling from inventory, no selling used furniture, no tips, no nothing, just that single part time job. Plus you have to pay for clothes) is perhaps my favorite one. It's hard, but also not too long.
At the moment I play a Castaway Challenge with three households. It's not me versus the game, but my sims versus each other, so I cannot technically lose.

I've been playing a 10 generation legacy challenge on short life span. The ninth gen has just aged to a teen. It's chaotic at times , I'm attempting to complete level 10 career and an aspiration. Traits and aspirations are randomized from toddler. Couple times I've not hit the achievement but I get close! The hardest part is finding a partner and starting a career as soon as they reach young adult. Lots of pressure but it's been really fun and no time to get bored. Each generation goes by really fast.

I like playing rotationally. My main save has been around since the Christmas the year the sims 4 came out. I have all of the packs so far ( though I have been playing since The Sins 1, this is the first time I have a complete set of a sleep ms game. I usually keep aging off, I’m still editing for a babies update, cars, hotels, casino’s and advanced updates for children. I’m glad that there will be a playable high school.

I started a scenario rotation last year, I have fun with my different characters. My families are all different, and I’m having fun playing the scenarios. In my rotational saves, my sims know other played sims, and I kind of build stories for them as I go…. It’s fun because I can change households whenever I want.

I’m with @Simmingal. My play is more story based and less goal oriented. It goes where it goes, and I goes with it.

I'm working through all the aspirations but I only do one per sim so it's taking a while. I'm also working on doing every career once without a degree in my first three generations and then doing every one that can be influenced by a degree again in the 4-6th. Right now the 4th generation is in the child stage and younger. The 3rd generation ranges from Child to Adult, so there are still some careers I haven't even started yet.
I'm also trying to use all of the features of every kit I own. Right now I can safely say I have completed City Living, probably Vampires also, and just need to make every herbalism recipe once to be done with Outdoor Retreat. There are maybe a few things with bees and to max out flower arranging before I can say that Seasons is complete. I have everything except Dream Home Decorator and Tiny Living and the kits, so there's still a lot to do. In addition to all of these goals, I also play through storylines and have family events and play up the holidays and go to club gatherings so I have a lot of distractions. The only collection I have completed is seashells so far.

My current main save is my own take on Building Newcrest. I just have two community lots left to build - the Museum and an Art Center (as the Museum is going to have stuff from the other worlds, it's not as focused on the art aspect) And the generation that will build said Art Center just became Teenagers, and I'm trying to decide if I want to put it on hold until I get HSY or not (especially since I haven't pre-ordered and may not get it for a week or three after it drops.)

Normally I play a mix of story and goal, heavier on the story. When I finish this save, I'll probably try a new spin on Spellcasters in Moonwood Mill, and see what sort of story that brings.

Nice idea about opening your own business! I have yet to try that myself. I think i might try running a vet next. I am gravitating towards the open jobs where you can go with the sim, and i have a few i have not tried. I am mostly focusing on the acting carrer for now.

My saves are focused on the story, and things like goals, skills, aspirations are plot elements at most. I have two main saves that are poles apart, one is based more on real life with a RomCom storyline that follows the lives and loves of three friends. There may be another household or two added in to the plot as the story goes on, but the three women who started the story and their growing households are the main focus. One of the characters story does include her opening her own restaurant or possibly a B&B. I'm not sure which yet as that part of the plot is still a little ways off, and she may show me that something else fits her better. This story is one where I take a mostly hands off approach and let the sims themselves show me where the story is going. I'm there to push and pull when needed and to take screenshots.

The other is broader and follows a loosely connected collection of werewolf households spread across the sims globe. All have ties in one way or another to Moonwood Mill. Some of them came from Moonwood Mill, others are connected to it because they chose, unwisely to visit and were given the gift of lycanthropy as a memento of their ill-advised trip before returning to their 'normal' lives. As time goes by those like Judith Ward who became werewolves after visiting Moonwood for whatever reason are back in their home worlds and they too are sharing the gift of lycanthropy and the werewolf chaos spreads.

I've reached 44 families played in a premade focused rotational save when I play each family for a sim year on the calendar with my seasons set at 14 days each. I might not sound like a lot but taken me almost three years to get this far. :D
