Where did all my sims go?

Question

I just had my sim go into 2 different community lots, and NOBODY else came into either one of the buildings. The game did generate 1 player created sim and 2 townies walking around at a distance but not on the lot. I was there for a little while, too, so it's not like they didn't have time to generate. And it was a Sunday afternoon, so it wasn't the timing. So my sim and his friend had a whole bakery and a whole bar to themselves. Anybody else experiencing this, or is it just me? It's super weird.

Oh I totally forgot about the stupid patch. That's probably it. Thanks for your replies @LaBlue0314 and @Camkat .

@Camkat I found the problem -- I needed to download the latest version of MCCC. If you're using MCCC, maybe this is what's causing problems for you, too.

Do you use mods in your game?  The reason I ask is this sounds like it is mod related.  I forgot which one it was but I had to actually remove one because it was causing sims to not show up in different locations.  What could have happened if this is what is going on is that we recently had a patch, and whenever a patch is added, mods will for sure pretty much need to be updated as well.

This happened to me too and I wondered about my timing but then I looked and it was a mid-afternoon. It wasn't like this before the last patch so for now, I'm blaming that.

@QueenofMyshuno thanks! I'm not using MCCC but I played a different save and things seem to be ok. Going back to my "problem" save I think now the reason is that it's an old save and most sims are now dead so that might be why no one is turning up to the lots!  :D I'll inject some new lives into the worlds and see if that fixes it.
