where do the magical sages live?

If you make him homeless, and you have not played his household, he'll revert to being a sage again. I think being a sage is a hidden trait that is turned off when they have a home/are part of an active household. I don't think they actually loose it.

In some games, I don't go looking for the sages to change their flags right away, and MCCC has moved them into homes (and occasionally married them off...) and I've gotten them all back to being sages by flagging them as homeless.
