My Sim has gone overboard on collecting upgrade parts. He's a rather frugal Sim and although he can easily afford to have broken sinks, toilets, etc. repaired professionally, he does the work himself. Being frugal, he also scavenges through the pile when he's done. His Obsessed Fans also leave piles of trash in front of his house. Used to be inside the dorm, but my Sim also goes through the pile before throwing it out. Now, he's got way too much in his personal inventory. I took the time to move everything superfluous out of it and have no desire to place them back. Is there a trunk or other such item that will store all of this stuff? I got the ornate one (not from the jungle set) and when I dragged two of the common plumbing parts to it, then opened the trunk, they seemed to have gone nowhere. :open_mouth: At least one of the trunks gave a cautionary warning in the description IE will devour your precious … I could sell them, but some are robot parts, electronic parts and the expensive plumbing parts. If a trunk is the best place, please let me know which one I can safely use. Thank you.What to do?Please, and thank you, in advance.

I store them all in a time capsule that I keep next to the television. I do not recall for sure if using time capsules as storage is a mod or not, though. I use coolspear's storage mods which make a ton of game objects into containers that you can store stuff in so it's hard for me to keep track, mentally, of which are base game storage and which are added by his mods. Basically, if there's a decor object that looks like it should be able to store things, then he's made it so it can store things.

@Akl500P It worked beautifully! And all of this time I thought it was strictly for ice. LOL@Admiral 18Q I generally open the stack and move them one at a time onto a surface. From there you can probably just scoot the items into the inventory of the desired Sim. :) Hope that helps. In my case, I had lined all of the parts onto the floor. In the case of the portions my celebrity was sent, I had them all over the two dining tables along with his nice collection of those Fabergé type Easter Eggs. I found a nice display case to show those off in the living room. And on shelves he already had. Yeah, he cleaned out the chairs at the PBP Studios. (Of course, this was part of the upgrade I had given the joint. Nice plush chairs instead of those tired-looking dining chairs.)

@Admiral8Q You have to move them one at a time, but if you drag and drop them over the the top of the portrait of the Sim you want to give them to, over in the bottom left of the UI, they will go straight into that sim's inventory. To grab one at a time, click the number that's in the corner of the item in the Sim's inventory, which expands the stack so you can grab 1 at a time.

I’ve used the university trunk without issue in the past. I’d say that’s your best bet!

On this topic, how do you split a stack of junk again, like if you want to give some of a stack to another Sim or stash some of it in a trunk or something?
(without plopping it one at a time on the ground, I mean, that's friggy annoying ;) )

There are a few storage chests in the game, but I really like the cardboard storage boxes they are so cute. You can change the color and get different pictures on them. There is also a mod with more swatches. I usually have a little storage room or basement with some cardboard boxes. Although to be honest I've never stored upgrade items because I am always upgrading and never have enough.

Yeah, I guess there is no way. Like when selling from inventory, you can chose how many in a stack.
Splitting let's say 300 upgrade parts of this type, 200 of that type, 400 of that type, etc among like 8 Sims, one at a time, meh, takes forever.

I've been sorta cheating and buying what each Sim needs and selling the excess on other Sims rather than splitting it up with hundreds on the floor lol.
"one for you, one for you, another one for you...." :p :#

Just thought there may be a better way to do it.

Oh, I just realized the best way is probably to give the Sim of choice a gift. Then you get to select from the list of what's in your Sims' inventory to gift to the other Sim. D'oh.
