Maybe they're just getting lazy, since I also will often use the 'make happy' cheat on them. Who knows? But, yeah, it drives me a bit crazy.

Depends on the sim but most of the time, it's Social that gets on my nerves.
Second to that is possibly fun... Only because things that should be fun (like painting) aren't fun for sims. Unless they changed that :grey_question:
They haven't changed that (yet), but if you have the Fitness Stuff pack, you can get the earbuds for your Sim, and if they listen to music while painting the fun level goes up. B) My teen Sim got a free pair, and I have her going for the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration (it's one that actually can be finished during the teen years, at least if you're on Long lifespan and work at it hard enough) so she does a lot of painting.- amp1075 years agoRising VeteranSleep for sims take too long, and naps and coffee are practically useless in the game. I usually end up giving me sims the reward trait that makes them sleep less often so that they can achieve a more realistic amount of things each day and in their life span. Second to energy would be the social bar for me.
- Fun and social to a lesser extent. I honestly don't understand why either of these are even needs in the first place. No one needs to have fun or be social to live, so I find it weird for them to be on par with eating. But either way, I always found fun annoying to deal with because it seems using the computer or playing a video game is the only thing that'll give fun a decent boost. Social also sucked because often times I would be too busy doing other things to even think about it.

None cuz I cheat needs to stay full lol
Then what is the purpose of the gameplay then? They dont eat or sleep? If i played like that i would feel like i was just spamming social interactions all day. Like barbies , i guess.- Hunger annoys me most because it takes them so long to eat & they have things to get done lol. I work around this by just having them eat honey because it immediately fills the bar. Massive time saver!
- I moved out the mom in my household so I could focus on her and lately she's been a bit of a recluse while working, gardening, painting, knitting, etc. Luckily I have UI Cheats so I just manually adjust her social when necessary.
- It's usually a combination of having to juggle all these needs especially in a large household. I expect my sims to be able to handle their needs autonomously when they have, well, free autonomy, yet they can spectacularly fail at taking care of themselves. I can usually manage but it goes wrong when sims need to go to school/work (or come back from there). Things do get better when my sim can afford (or I cheat them) better quality and expensive objects that address their needs. Or I get them traits that obliterate their needs (would love if these traits were toned down a bit - like make sims less needy, but not have certain objects become obsolete).
- pinneduphair5 years agoSeasoned AceEspecially whenever I have a household that’s just a single sim, their social need is always very low. I really wish phone calls were better at filling the social need, because I don’t always feel like sending my sim on an hours-long outing for the sake of one need.

It goes down way too fast and the only way to fulfill it is to sleep, nap, get a reward trait or cheat. I try my hardest not to cheat for needs if I can help it, but I do use the less extreme rewards traits from time to time. Coffee is useless, barely fills the bar and makes their bladder need tank. First time I tried using coffee in TS4 was so disappointing. I would have my TS2 Sims drink it all the time! It was funny when they drank too much and would get all jittery. :D
As for social, that one isn't really all that hard to fill, just time consuming if you play with a single Sim as I do a lot of the time. Luckily, it seems most of my Sims living alone, are inundated with visitors to their lot or walkbys. Ask them to cloud/stargaze, chat a bit and boom, social filled. Barring that, they will call friends or text when it's too late. The best thing though, in my opinion, for loner Sims is to get their gardening skill up so they can talk to their plants! ;) Erratic Sims can just talk to themselves or a teddy bear so they're good too.
Now, I've seen so many mention that Fun is hard to fill without using a TV/Computer/Video games. There are tons of other ways to fill fun and quickly too. For instance, as someone mentioned, have them use the earbuds. Just turn them on (don't choose listen) and they can do everything else (except sleep) while the earbuds fill fun in the background. Or, the best thing to use in my opinion is a bicycle. Bicycles fill the fun need ridiculously fast.
Just have them ride down the street a little ways and come back, boom, fun filled to the max! It also gives them Fitness skills. I think the bicycle from DU and EL gets a bad rap sometimes since it can be glitchy and unrealistic when they ride them indoors. But, hey, it fills fun and fitness so it's worth it in my opinion. If the unrealistic glitchy things bother you, just don't keep it in their inventory and only have them use it when fun is low.
Other fun things are; fishing, painting (at a higher level), cloud/stargaze, singing, woo hoo, gardening (at a higher level), swings, knitting, waterslide, aqua zips, canoes, playing with a campfire or bon fire, playing in the rain, playing in the waterfall in IL, making sand sculptures, snow angels and snow pals, flying in a rocket, playing chess, tell jokes, bubble baths, reading, Don't Wake the Llama, Cards, Foosball, Darts, basketball, ping pong, bowling, watching fish in an aquarium, using the bubble blower, blow bubbles, play with sparklers, playing with toddlers/pets, mixing drinks, meditating, and yoga. I'm sure there's more, just can't think of them off the top of my head. :)
Happy Simming! <3
