Which pet do you enjoy playing with more--cats or dogs?

Now that the game has been out for a while, I was curious which pet--cats or dogs--you enjoy playing with more?

Cats and dogs appear to behave very differently from each other, and have their own animations/interactions. For those of you who don't lean one way or another, have you had equal fun with both, or does one trump the other?

I have two cats myself, which I've placed in the world with my simself, however I don't actively play that household. Thinking of what I want to do for the household I just made.

Thanks!

  • I enjoy both, I just pick what suits the household most. Right now I have a mom and a dad with three toddlers, they need so much time that a dog just wouldn't fit in the household, so I got them two cats. They don't need as much attention and will generally take care of themselves, and the toddlers have a blast imitating the cats. I don't find dogs overly needy, though (just too needy for a household with three needy toddlers, lol). I've played with four before and every so many days one would start about wanting to go for a walk, but most of the time they were fine. Might get my family a dog later.
  • I love both dogs and cats, but I kinda prefer the cats in the game. They're more interesting and do more stuff than the dogs. The dogs are super cute, but they don't do much except for pee and poop and whine. I really wish they made them both interesting. Like I miss dogs being destructive etc.
  • I can't pick I love both in game and in real life I like to see what they do around the house and how they interact just got gen 2 with their pairs and and I'm going to miss seeing their dog playing with the family kitten or her parents/ Funny watching them I think both cats liked him more than each other after their daughter was born. Though I've had them not get along as well mostly when food is concerned it's nice to have a mix.
  • The dogs are a bit annoying in the game, so I definitely enjoy playing cats more.
  • I used a dog and a cat in TS4 and I found that the dog has to have a lot more attention because you have to give them baths and pet them and everything like that, but you get to train them and show the tricks off to other sims. Where as, the cats wake you up and rip out the couch and lick from the puddles, I prefer the cats because they do what ever they want and sleep on their huge cat playground. The dogs just wait for you and love you and it’s adorable... until you step in their poop... but I can see why people would like dogs more as they offer more into the game, but if you want to own a job from get to work or become a vet clinic then choose a cat because they require much less work, if you can teach them to not wake you up! I did enjoy playing with both in the same household, it just takes up a lot of time which I don’t have as I need to keep up my sims needs and possibaly expand my family tree. If you didn’t read this I will be sad
  • I prefer cats in game, but that is largely because I find it annoying to have to take the dog for a walk so often. Seasons especially made it a pain for me in one of my saves because the dog would want to go for a walk, but it was raining almost all the time whenever my sims were around to walk the dog. I'm not taking a vacation day to walk the dog.
