Which Supernatural pack should I get?

Vampires of course! It is my favourite pack and I honestly wouldn't want to play without it. The vampires are so versatile and fun to play, and Forgotten Hollow is eerily beautiful. I will admit I am biased though as I have always preferred vampires in stories. They are both great packs and it really depends on your own preferences.

Vampires has a cooler residential world, and the vamps themselves are very well done. They're fun to play with, much more fun than normal sims, without being too OP...unless you want an OP super-vamp. You can customize their powers and weaknesses to fit your own favorite kind of vampire, or have each individual vampire's powers and weaknesses reflect their personality...plus, you can do some serious Jekyll and Hyde stuff with the dark forms. Also, all of the Gothic/Victorian-inspired stuff is to die for...no pun intended...

Realm of Magic is just O.K. by comparison. The residential world is kind of meh, the magic realm is 98% set-dressing, and casters are pretty fun...but not nearly as deep as vampires. It's not a terrible pack, because magic is still fun and you can have some good scenarios come out of it, but aside from the magic system, it's no great shakes. Lots of fun decor for people who like more Art Nuveau-inspired architecture and furniture, though...especially the stained glass...so much stained glass...

So, I guess it comes down to whether you like a deep and well-developed power system and Victorian/Gothic stuff or a light magic system and Art Nuveau stuff.

Vampires!!!! I just can't get into spell casters no matter how hard I try. Or the worlds it came with ???

Vampires is a better pack all around, IMHO

Depends on if you want characters who have a dark form and negative flaws such as being thristy a lot, hissing etc or if you want a character who you can't necessarily tell they're a spellcaster. The powers for each depends on what you're into. Vampires is a bit more in depth, but doesn't have helpful spells for repairing and such. Realm of magic world is mostly set dressing but it's interesting. The little town is more of a secret hideaway with a few lots but the scenery is beautiful. Vampire pack's world is very gloomy and gothic with a similar amount of lots so they don't get sunburned (you can get a power to keep you from dying in sun). I personally use both in my household and love it. My scientist is a vampire and he can make plasma packs from frogs etc or order online. The build buy objects in both are great! Vampires is very much gothic/victorian, while spellcasters is sort of art nouveau meets victorian. Oh and with Discover University it's fun to make some sims be spellcasters as then it has a Hogwarts type feel especially with the secret society. :wink:

Vampires is more detailed and I have to agree with the comments that the magic world isn't great, but both have great CAS and build/buy items and I personally prefer spellcasters for general simming.

Vampire pack the build items are much more versatile in play.

This basically sums up my thoughts on ROM ^. I have to say Vampires set the bar pretty high when it comes to occults and I was left a bit disappointed when ROM came out as most of it seems to lack depth, both in gameplay and in the worlds that came with it.

So, like most others, I’m gonna have to say Vampires. One of my favourite packs!

Vampires are a lot more fleshed out as a pack and a life state imo. Realm of Magic's worlds are pretty and I like the CAS a lot but gameplay wise Vampires are more fun. It could be a bias though, Realm of Magic was my most anticipated pack but it really fell short compared to other game packs.

Vampires is my favorite from these two game packs. I love the whole pack, the dark atmosphere of Forgotten Hollow is great and vampires themselves are very well made.
RoM is nice pack too, but I don't know why I can't get the right feeling of witches and warlocks when I play with spellcasters. I was very excited when this pack came out, but now I just feel a bit let down.
