I see no reason why we can't get a full farming EP with horses and other animals -- that's what I would like. In The Sims 3, the farm set (with a chicken coop and dairy corral) and the canning station were both sold separately as sets in the Sims 3 Store, and for me they were never that well utilized in the whole game. The farm animals in particular were terribly underwhelming, disappointing and really just objects. The Canning station functioned okay with a mod, but I would have liked the jams and preserves to integrate better with the regular cooked items in the game (the jams were spreadable on toast if I remember but not really able to be given as gifts, like in Sims 1, or used in new recipes).
So I really think that even if the developers just took those store sets and made them part of a pack, while integrating them with existing Sims 4 systems like gardening, cooking, and retail (with some improvements to the last like being able to sell fruit and veggies in cartons, baskets or crates), we could have a great game pack. For an EP, I would hope that they would add some new and improved elements as well, like more animals (not just horses, but chickens, cows, sheep or alpacas and llamas), more family-based gameplay such as new group activities, the bake oven for kids, craftable products like butter, wool and cheese, and a Country Fair or Farmer's market venue with the ability for competition and sales. If the developers also manage to include Off-the-grid gameplay somehow, that would be even better.
Honestly, it shouldn't be that hard to make a good farming pack by simply adding to what we have. I also hope we get a music EP this year, with an active singing career like acting in Get Famous, and perhaps also the ability to add accompaniment for the singers in the form of new playable bands (like in Late night) or more accompanying instruments. It would be great if we could have singers choose to give live concerts in different styles or genres of music, with ticket sales and attendance depending on the level of fame: there could be a rock/pop genre, with the singer singing with an accompanying four-piece back up band (including drums, electric guitar, City living keyboard and maybe a bass), a classical genre, with accompaniments by piano and violin, and a jazz genre, with accompaniments by drums, bass, jazz piano and maybe a new instrument like the saxophone or flute. New instruments (upright piano, saxophone, flute, electric guitar, drums, bass, cello etc) would all be welcome along with the ability to form trios or bands, rehearse together, play gigs etc.
For game packs, I would like to see at least one new vacation pack with a destination world. If this could include more winter sports and maybe visitable and ownable hotels and resorts, that would just be a bonus. (Rental lots should be added to the base game in a patch in my opinion). Or, as an alternative I would also enjoy a theme park based pack as part of a vacation world, provided it also included resorts. Fun activities could include merry-go-rounds, ferris wheels, modular roller coasters with unique animations and special buffs, log rides or water slides, kiddie rides (like bouncy animals, bouncy castles, tiny rocket ships) for kids and toddlers, not to forget food stands (open to all ages unlike the ones in City Living or Jungle Adventure) selling carnival food like caramel or candy apples, waffle or cheese fries, corn dogs, souvlaki in a pita, candy floss, bacon on a bun, mini donuts, ice lollies or popsicles, poutine etc.
I would also like another Parenthood-style pack, but one focussed, this time, entirely on interactions between kids, teens and toddlers and their attempts to either subvert or challenge parental authority. All of them should have new interactive socials, etc, because currently they are fairly thin (all they can really do is talk). In addition, it would also be great to have the ability for teens to throw wild parties while their parents were away (and then get grounded) like in Generations, and to go to prom together etc. Kids and toddlers would be able to interact more, and there should be new activities for them to do in their age-appropriate groups -- like having a sleepover party with activities such as playing games together, making forts, having pillow fights, whispering with friends in sleeping bags, doing indoor camping, decorating cookies or cupcakes together, playing boardgames or charades, making fun crafts like paper airplanes or silly hats, etc .
I am not as interested in stuff packs. I feel we have more than enough of those. So I am open to whatever they give us in that category.
