It would be strange if it is the grades, she autonomously do her homework. She is in a group with other children where doing their homework is on of the activities and her father always prtake in helping with the homework when she is at home. I think it is a combination of the "hate children" trait and the fact that she did not adopt her stepmother as a caregiver. So it may be a glitch as the bad relationship with a stepmother and stepfather is a pretty common theme
