White rectangles on sim

That sounds like broken or outdated CC. As I don't use CC, I'm not 100% sure if that is the case. There used to be a program you could download to help you find the bad CC instead of having to check every piece. I can't remember the name of it or if it is even a thing. Maybe someone else can help better than I can.

i had that problem with a sim a while back but i only had it happen once.

That's the one, Castiel. While CAS will show item conflicts, it doesn't show this. Maybe because it's random, or seems to be. I've had a given outfit look like that in one play session and be just fine in another. Age of CC may contribute. At least I confine the stuff to an installation that doesn't go past University and has a few gaps before that.

You might have something there, if the sim itself didn't have the squares too. On purpose sounds like modder fodder.

What are your graphics settings at? Sometimes, especially if the CC is a bit outdated or conflicting, I've noticed that if I have my settings too high or too low, it won't render the mesh/texture properly and give you a sort of "disco ball" effect! Sometimes it has to do with reflections, other times things like Bloom and lighting/shadow quality... When I found out if it was graphics for some of my CC, I had just tried all the graphics presets and went from there. Not sure if that would necessarily help much, but hopefully :)

The happens if a specular textures' alpha channel has been replaced with a solid colour. Instead of just applying to the bits it needs to (like a necklace or belt buckle) it is applying to the whole sim. To fix it you first need to work out which piece of clothing is causing the problem - some trial and error will be required. Once you work out what the offending piece is, you can either delete it, fix it yourself or redownload it.
