I actually like how it is in Sims 4 with the board from the parenting pack. It's optional and more realistic than having the police bring teens back all the time. I like that the consequences affect the character values if they aren't home on time. It makes me not want to break curfew much.
I do feel like some kind of reaction should happen from parents though when a teen or child breaks curfew. They arrive home late and nothing happens. The parents don't even acknowledge it. That's the only thing I don't like about curfew in Sims 4.
Another silly thing in the Sims 4 with curfews is that it shouldn't be considered breaking curfew if a child or teen is out late with their parents. That makes no sense to me. If they're at a family event with their parents then they obviously have permission to be there.
