Putting security over liberty and you gain neither it seems.
In one way i can understand the purposes of a family setting a curfew, in order to keep those teenagers from going a bit too far exploring themselves and with others, and protect them from harm but on the other side teenagers are taught that their freedom and indepedence are important and yet there is a hypcritical element at work that discourages such ability for a teenager.
Curfews don't make a whole lot of sense based on that and its even harder to monitor. In the UK the rate for teenage pregnancies and kids drinking to excess through the nights are very high, probably higher than most other countries, so what is an acceptable point? i doubt the police can continously pick up kids out passed curfew every single night, and what about real crimes taking place, do they kick the kid out the police car and do a mad dash to reach the crime taking place?
